HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTINA!!!!

It was fun hanging with you girls ( & little man Jack)!

Kris, I'm glad you are breathing better too! I feel the same way about you & our Nola girls, honored to know y'all!!

Lori, I'm sorry you are so homesick! Roaches clinging to the screen would creep me out too, but it would much worse if they are all inside the screen! :scared1:

Congrats to Bethany!!! :thumbsup2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTINA!!!

Awww, you made me cry , so glad we all found each other too !

Lol about your mom being reincarnated in Grayce, your mom must have been one sassy lady .

Congratulations Bethany!!! woo hoo!!!

Hugs Lori, I am so sorry you are having a rough time.
We love you!!

I'm sorry to say your weekends are gone, but hopefully these will be some of the best times of your life.:goodvibes Johnny is having a really hard time adjusting to life without baseball so I think we're going to plan a few weekends in Baton Rouge, we know so many of the boys on the team it will be fun getting together with them.

Be sure and tell me when you come in !!! We must hit Texas de Brazil!!!

Happy Birthday Kristina!

Jenny - I'll be sure and let you know when we plan a BR weekend!

I am just sick over Scott Fujita signing with Cleveland.:sad1:

Happy Birthday Kristina. Hope it was a great one. :flower3:

Lori, I am sorry you are homesick. It will get better, one day at a time. Just imagine if you were in Houston without the band-aid. I will tell you what is worse than the roaches clinging to the outside of your screen at night. Having a pool without a screen. Can't tell you how many I pushed out of the pool. Don't look and they won't bother you. And yes, it is a good idea to cut the bushes off the house. Keep remembering outside is better than inside.

Ya'll are making me so hungry with all the mexican food talk. I love mexican food. I prefer the authentic stuff so usually I make my own though. I am saving the mexican feast for later this month when we have some friends that come over for a monthy get together. March is my turn.

Hi gang,

COGRATS AGAIN BETHANY!!!!! I'm very proud of you. :woohoo::woohoo:

I spent the majority of today cleaning out my side of the closet.... I can't believe how much clothes/shoes I haven't worn in over a year....get this 3 lawn garbage bags!!!!! I'm on my way to DECLUTTERING. ;)

You are funny. I cannot tell you how homesick I am. I sat there watching it and was filling up and this mom came and told me that it WILL get better- then I bawled. She felt bad but Paul feels so guilty he takes it so personally and I have not been able to just cry like a baby like I really want/need too.

I know it will get better and I do not mean to whine. I really don't. I just had 10 years of some sort of routine in Covington and I miss that.

And the grass is NOT always greener- esp when it is gonna be filled with roaches soon. I was told they'd be 'waking up' soon. Yes,Cara, I have brought others in on this phobia of mine.:rotfl: I want Paul to take every tree down and at least not have the bushes TOUCH my house at all. I heard they cling to the screen around the pool- great- how am I supposed to enjoy swimming at night if they are out there? I think I need therapy on how to befriend these creatures.........:rolleyes1 I am also couting heavily on the bug guy that works at Disney FT.:wizard:

PS- I am going to apply for a seasonal position at WDW. I found out you only have to work 40 hours a year, and then you have access to any park, any time and your immiediate family can get in 6 times a year, plus they will give special passes a couple times a year for a few friends or family members at certqain times.

 Sweetie. We miss you too. Time and being more active, having a busy schedule, will soon heal your lonliness. I hope you are successful in getting a seasonal position. That would be awesome.

UGH!!!:scared1: Did I mention how much I am afraid of them also. :scared1: I've used an entire can of bug spray to kill one...this was when DH was not around to kill it.

What do you mean??? You haven't heard me down the street when I have found one??? I am scared to death of those bugs too and Raid, trust me, between Lori, you, and me, made plenty of profit this year :rolleyes1

Way to go on the decluttering project. You are so inspirational. I need to follow your lead, spring break is coming in up in a few more weeks.

thanks all! had an incredibly wonderful weekend in spite of still feeling bad....but I am still breathing well so that is nothing to deal with :)

can't wait to get another meet together woo hoo!

Hey y'all,

Kristina, I hope you had a nice day yesterday!

Bethany, Congrats again on finishing!

Serena, When you've perfected your decluttering skills, Can I rent you?!;)

I'm really sad about Scott Fujita! Maybe we should go to Rock N Sake & have a Fujita roll do honor him?! Oh & a Sake Margarita too!

Has anyone had Lasik surgery? I had it done years ago by Dr Singer & didn't have good results. DD is considering it & is seeking opinions on Doctors that do it. Singer has taken over Brint's office, so Dr Brint is no longer an option.

Just heard from my Dr., my EKG & monitor results showed nothing so he wants to see me on Friday to refer me to a cardiologist since I'm still experiencing the palpitations. Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:

Sheryl,
I had Lasik in 2005. Dr. Brint did it. Is he no longer practicing?

It has been the most wonderful thing I've ever done for myself. He gave me monovision--my vision is different in each eye so that I use my right eye for close up and left eye for distance. He did that to hold off my having to have reading glasses.

I would highly recommend Dr. Brint. Did he retire?

I am considering this myself.

Hey y'all,

Quiet morning in NOLA.

Kathy, That's good that nothing showed up on the EKG or the monitor! I do think a visit to a cardiologist is a good idea. I'm still thinking mitral valve prolapse is likely & not a big deal.

I don't know where Dr Brint is. I'll ask my DD about that, she just told me that he was no longer practicing & sold the clinic to Singer. :confused3

I asked DD about Brint & I misunderstood her. He does still practice here, but flies all over the place & it is difficult to book him. Also when she checked over a year ago, his office was $2400 per eye & she didn't find out the cost to have Brint himself do the surgery.

I also had the monovision done, but by Dr Singer. My vision was really bad & I needed two surgeries on the eye for distance. What upset me, was that I specifically asked him if I was not a good candidate due to my vision. Initially he said it would not be an issue. THEN after the 1st procedure, when I still couldn't see he said " Well I told you this was likely with your vision". UH, NO he did NOT! Since then my distance vision has gotten worse & I can hardly read with the other eye. So I'm back to wearing bifocals again. I would consider another surgery on my "reading" but since the surgery both eyes are extremely dry.

Kathy-glad everything was ok, but hoping they find the problem:)

It's getting a little better here.

I may be coming in sooner than originally planned(end of April and then in June) b/c my mawmaw is in her last days. Hospice called and told us she will most likely get to heaven in a couple weeks, or days. She is 94 and has had a wonderful life. We are not sad. She's gonna go be with her hubby. However, it IS sad, that my sister, mom, cousin and ourselves are thankful to see each other sooner than expected.:rolleyes1 I just think it is the IDEA we live further now. My cousin is in Tennessee so we never see each other.
Mawmaw will get a party instead of a sad funeral- but I think she'd like that better anyway.
What is truly sad is that her son(my uncle) is a moron and they are taking things from her already. They took the very necklace off of her neck that had her late husbands wedding ring on it that she asked to keep till she passed. She is not with it right now and they took it off of her:eek:. Like I said, he and his family are morons. His family goes to stay with her and they eat everything she has plus they put dinners on her tab at the assissted living facility. Everyone else brings thier food with them from home. She is not eating much but when she wants something- it's all gone. Like a coke- they(uncle, and kids) drank everyone she had and refused to replace them till my sister demanded it when mawmaw asked for one and theren't any.
ugh...... I could go on and on................

I will FB you all the dates we have scheduled to come home-June will be the best time if you all are available to get together.

Lori

Sheryl,
I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad time and had to go through all that and still have to wear glasses.

When I decided to have the surgery, I knew I wanted Dr. Brint to do it and I wouldn't even consider anyone else. Luckily, I think I did mine when he was more available.

If I were her and I really wanted to have it done, I would wait for an appointment with him. Unfortunately, he's not cheap.

My corneas were on the thin side, so he didn't want to make the flap cut on my eye. What he did was to scrape my cornea away and then make the incisions. My corneas took a few days to regenerate, so I didn't have the immediate results that most patients do. However, he says that the corneal ablation that I had done produces better vision in the long run. But most people want to be able to see right away, so they do the flap if they can.

I highly recommend Dr. Brint. Good luck to her whatever she decides.

Thanks Michelle! I will tell her. After going through what I did, I agree that she should go with the best.
