Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

LOL... at Bethany and her hot mess of an accent. Glad you are feeling better and wow on your 10 miles.

Logan had another fun weekend camping, but this time came home sunburnt. Beats the frostbite, it will heal easier, but the kid HAD sunblock. I am putting this up to a learning experience for him, but I wish he would learn faster!

Lori, I can't wait to see the pic of the plate hung up in your kitchen! Painting does hurt, I feel your pain thinking about it. Wow on the earthquake affecting Lake Pontchartrain. Talk about being felt around the world, huh!

I looked up the campground you were talking about, and it sounds great, but doesn't allow dogs. Sean wants to bring Mingus. He wants a total family bonding experience including fishing. I should clue you in that my husband is a total city boy. Last year was his first camping experience, and he didn't love it so I am shocked that this was HIS idea. I was looking at the Chicot State Park for now. But I am keeping your idea around for the time Sean is ready to board the dog for a few nights.

WHERE has the time gone?!? February's done! :faint:

I'm at the 8 month mark. It hasn't even been a full year yet...sometimes (rarely now!) it feels like I got here yesterday and other days it feels like it's been forever. :grouphug:

I didn't get everything done this weekend that I wanted to, but I only had half a weekend to do it in. *shrugs* It's all good...as long as I get stuff done in the evenings this week.

Goodnight everybody.

Good afternoon!

I was down and out yesterday with a migraine. Seeing spots, dizzy, throbbing temple, nauseous, etc. But I'm making up for getting nothing done yesterday. I got up, paid the bills for the first half of the month, swept the floor, and went to the park and walked/jogged 10 miles in 2 hours, 20 minutes. Next up is running errands all over town. :upsidedow

wow!!!

Hey y'all,

DH is on the phone trying to book an AKV summer vacation! The man is seriously addicted!

Lori, Sorry you're hurting & that people think you're from Jersey! Did you my post, telling you to go to the Mom's night out? See above you need to go!

Bethany, Sorry you were feeling bad! I hope you're all better.

Yep, he booked AKV for 4 nights the beginning of June! Lori, We'll get to see you soon, so you don't get too homesick for people who understand your accent!!

I saw it and I am gonna go!:goodvibes I am sooo happy for you that your coming back in June(and for me too) but it's gonna be hot! The house should be a good bit "done" by then!

That's wierd cuz we've brought our dogs every time:confused3. Rules must have changed in the past year. My dogs handled camping better than apartment living:laughing:
My hubby is a city boy too- I can only get him in a tent about once a year maybe. Now a cabin is a little different- but LBC cabins are rustic and you bring your own bed linens.

Have fun planning it out. Jenny camps often if you need any other advice.

Gotta go-the house is getting carpet in the girls rooms today-was gonna be laminate but we're trying to stay in a budget for everything we wanna do! See you soon!

Lori

Good morning.

I have to ask for some prayers this morning. My father-in-law is being operated on this morning for prostate cancer. He was diagnosed with this a few weeks ago. Luckily, the cancer has not spread past the prostate. It will be a 4-hour surgery.

Mary-I will add him to my prayer list-healing,healing thoughts his way!

Just wanted to let y'all know I'm home and am sporting this horrendous looking heart monitor and wires, I have to go to work tomorrow!

Mary - Any word on FIL yet?

Kat, how long do have to wear the monitor? What did Dr. say?

My father-in-law is out of operating room and in recovery. Dr. said everything went fine. He should be a room later on today.

Thanks everyone for prayers.

Great news on your FIL!

I only saw cardio technicians today. I expect my doctor will call me when he gets the EKG results and the monitor reading. I have to wear this gem for 24 hours. Not sure how I'm going to hide all the wires under my clothes yet.:sad2:

 I'm sure you'll figure something out! I think it's supposed to be cool tomorrow, so you can get away with wearing an extra layer maybe??

is it big?? does it have a tape? or is it digital?? Obviously, the big ones that use tapes are older-but work just as well- yet they are harder to hide. We had just gotten these cute little tiny ones about the size of a pager that are difital- before we left- at my job. The doc will probably call you with results. Lots of people say it is easier to sleep with it under your pillow- but I am not sure about that! Praying all goes well. remember, you have the holter b/c EKG's only show what is happening at that moment that you get it- it can show previous heart attacks- but that is unlikely for you. You'd know that or it could be false positive b/c you are female(go figure)

Posted more pics on FB. We are exhausted! BUT our stuff comes tomorrow in the rain we are expecting:rolleyes:. Cannot wait! Praying that we have everything, nothng is broke of importance and that it all goes smoothly.
The house is coming together and looks more and more homey.

After we are more settled, I am going to apply for a seasonal spot at WDW!!! Paul says that is NOT work:rotfl:- but he is comparing it to my previous employment:rolleyes:.

Lori

Thinking of Lorie and Todd often- as there is SO much green stuff and spiders!

Lori - It is digital and the monitor itself is small but what I'm having trouble concealing are all of the wires!

Good morning.

Father in law is recovering nicely. He was in some pain last night, but looked good overall. He is supposed to come home tonight. Thanks again for the prayers and good thoughts.
