I have this "friend" on FB, she goes to my home church in Mandeville and I HAD to hide her b/c every time the SAINT or LSU win she dogs it badly- she's downright hurtful and mean about it. She is from Georgia so she thinks she CAN'T be happy for LSU or the SAINTS. She thinks Georgia will be mad at her or something. I have been arguing with her and I am over it. I de-friended her over this once already and then she asked me to be her friend again and instead of being mean.... she always says she is playing around and keeping it light but she absolutely doesn't.
here is her FB status:
"The only good thing to come out of this Saints win....wait, there is no good thing about it. Go Falcons!!!!!"
Then this, after many many people tried nicely to talk some niceness into her:
"Would like to thank everyone for their geography lessons today. I KNOW WHERE I LIVE!!!
Now, let me set the record straight...I am a Falcons fan, and as a true Falcons fan I just cannot be thrilled over a Saints win. That is strictly football talk. I WILL NOT jump on any bandwagon just for the sake of my address!!
However, I am thrilled for you all (happy that you are happy) and for the city. This football season has done wonders for the city of New Orleans - anyone that was here during Katrina can attest to that. I hope that the city (not the NFL team) continues to thrive. It is a great city with so much history, good food & good culture.
Finally, as you all have a love for your city - I have one for mine as well. Whether or not I ever go back to Atlanta, it will always be "home" to me. I ask that you respect that. "
I say that is NOT straight football talk- it's sore loser talk and her team wasn't even in the running!
Even my diehard Saints/LSU football fan hubby would agree to that.
I DO have love for my city, but if the a local team won and weren't playing against LSU or Saints, I'd not be so crude about it. I know for Paul it would a few more parameter- like SEC or not.
These are not the only posts she's been so mean at.
UGHHH, I may defriend her again- I just can't stand her posts. it's been like this for MONTHS.
