Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

As you can see we really had fun. It was the best 4 days and I will cherish them for years to come.

:goodvibes I am so glad you had such a great time! And I enjoyed reading your trip report; thanks for sharing it with us. :thumbsup2

Rip a peice pf my heart out-my sister AND her neice both told me this same thing that Gabbi(DN7) said this past weekend. Gabbi spent the night out at a cousins on her step dads side and one cousin asked her if she could live anywhere she wanted, in the whole world, where would that be. Gabbi said she would live in Texas, b/c that was "where her Nana was gonna be"

I truly have been in "acceptance" mode and even slighly excited about a new chapter in our lives. Good things are happening to us, even if they drag us away from here. As long as our family is together, I can handle it , and handle it well. This just made me so sad.

I have even been thinking about getting fleur de lis stuff for my new house, den area probably, (b/c my kitchen is all cute and I like it), and making myself get "Goodnight NOLA". I have a couple cool NOLA pics from our last move to Texas, one of Evergreen, where my dads side lived for a while-not in the big house, we were NOT wealthy, even then:laughing:, and one of St Louis Cathedral on a slate-roof tile thing.

 The Gabbi thing is so sad. :sad1:

You do not want to decorate with stars? :lmao: Fleur de lis stuff is nice...

I really think DD9 just needed to break (a bit) over this whole thing to be able to move on. She is my overly emotional kid, like WAY over emotional that we really need to work on this about her.I could tell she was having issues with it but she wouldn't say-she'd been acting out.....so we are making a "house" scrapbook. I told her she coud take a ton of pics of the house and we'd print them up for the book. I bought stickers that represent each room in our home and a cool scrapbook that has keepsake folders for whatever she wants to put in there. While I was at it (I hate scrapbooking BTW) I bought a big pink scrapbook for a "friends" one. They have many of the same friends, or those who are sisters too, so I just got one for the both of them. We have a very eventful summer coming up, so many pics will be taken!

DD11, on the other hand, is looking at it like an adventure, but the day we move, I think she will lose it. It's gonna be the sofa incident all over again, but 10x worse. Then she will be glad she has that house scrapbook her sister is making. And email.

I am taking a lot of pictures too. I have this insane amount of scrapbooking stuff. I inherited some of it and at some point I might find some TIME to use it. :rolleyes1 I have a machine that cuts letters out FOR YOU. :thumbsup2 Let me know if you want to use it (it's the Cricut...someone gave it to me :thumbsup2)

I'm sorry Lori, yes dd is going to stay here with her dad and I will go by myself. She was having serious issues about moving so DH and I sat down and discussed the thought of her stayng here with him and my mom while I am in Jxsn.....Not sure how this will work but that is the plan for now.

 That was a tough decision to make, I'm sure. Are you still trying to get to stay in NOLA?

I am now officially freaked out over how I'm going to get everything ready to leave early early Thursday! Today I have a dr's appt for an EMG which not only is going to hurt, but it's eating up a major portion of my day.:scared:

 You'll get what you need to get done done, and what doesn't get done will be there when you get back. I hope you're not still hurting from your dr appt.

Just a quick check in- it may be my last time before tomorrow! I'm hangin' in there and just crossing my legs to hold this baby in at this point! :rotfl:

I am starting to freak out a bit though...well, a lot. If there is an emotion right now, I'm feeling it! Excited, scared, nervous, relief, and even a bit sad  that this is an end of an era- DD is no longer an only child, the pregnancy is over, etc. Anyway, I had my last Dr visit this morning- all is well, she just said to keep holding on until tomorrow!

I'm worried the most about DD though. I'm not sure how she'll be at MIL's for four days. Will she be scared? Or think we've abandoned her? Yikes, so much to worry about. I'm being assured by all that she will be fine- I hope so.

 I highly doubt Sienna will think you've abandoned her; especially since you will be checking in with her and stuff.

I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to hear that he's here! :woohoo:

Kristina...I lost your quote :confused3 but .

Lorie - :hug:to you and your family...all will be fine. :)May God be with you and your baby tomorrow.

Kristina - girl you know we understand and of course we do not feel that you are putting us down.

Bethany i hope your move and life here is calmer than your NY one. :rotfl:

ooh cricut is cool...i wanna play

You have a cricut?? for FREE??? I JUST was introduced to what exactly it does- it is cool, but I truly dislike scrapbooking- I like my pics on a CD or DVD to music and this takes a lot of my time- so i would not buy one. I'd just borrow or ask for certain cutouts!! My friend has like every cartridge you can think of-it's crazy- but she has the $$ to throw out on it all! Well, thats the way I look at it I guess.

Lori- the bus finally showed up...2 hours late! We are on the way now but the driver is not the brightest crayon in the box. We are on local streets, not the highway and we have like 150 blocks to go ... In 15 minutes in NYC traffic! HA! I am angry. It is not fair to these kids! I called t place and told them the situation, I hope it works out.

This is just another chapter in the Field Trip Fiasco Tales. I should have been writing all Thu down because some days I don't believe it myself.

I'm going to have to wait until tonight to read back and comment. I'm not trying to be rude...

I am sooooo glad they finally showed!!!

Hey y'all!

Just a quick check in- it may be my last time before tomorrow! I'm hangin' in there and just crossing my legs to hold this baby in at this point! :rotfl:

Terry- Thanks for the report! Our favorite new tradition is eating funnel cakes for breakfast at Sleepy Hallow. :thumbsup2 And we want to try Whispering Canyon too- maybe on our next visit. Sounds like y'all had a wonderful time!

Bethany- Sounds like a rough start, but I hope it turns out alright! Remember, you only have a few more days of craziness...

Sheryl- Here's hoping your appt doesn't take too long and the organization/packing gods send you some pixie dust! :wizard:

Lorie- I cannot wait to see pics of him!! Sienna will be fine, I am positive.
Just wait, your heart is gonna grow 2x tomorrow!! You will immediately love him just like you do Sienna, soon as you see him! It is amazing how God does this for moms!

I have been dealing with some stuff that has really got me down....I have been reading but just not posting. I am excited for those of you with great stuff happening and sad for those of you who are down. Money is the main issue, hormones are either crazy or non-existent. and today my mom would be 65...so I am really on the verge of tears all day. I know it is normal, but I am very angry and frustrated lately. I know you guys are there for me....it means a lot. I just don't want to be a downer....

C'mon, how many times have I whined and vented- here's a shoulder girl,.

Lori

Hey friends,

Lorie, I guess you are heading to the hospital very early tommorow. Prayers that everything goes well for you & Sienna. I agree with Lori, right now your focus is primarly on Sienna, but you will be amazed at how easily she will adjust. You're heart will also expand tomorrow & you will have Erik to love too!

Bethany, Things are going to get better soon!

The EMG today was much worse than I expected! Why don't they prepare you for this stuff? I thought I had made it through the worse after the electrical shocks were over, then he started sticking needles in the muscles & wiggling them around until he hit the "hot spot"! :sad2:

Good Morning NOLA.

First off to Lorie ~ prayers said for a safe surgery and a healthy Erik. Good luck today.

Well the trip was great. We were there a full seven days, had to dodge a few rain drops but not enough to alter our plans. We tried something new this go round by staying at the Bonnet Creek. It's right next door to the Carribean Beach so we truly felt like we were still smack in the middle of everything. We had a four bedroom condo on the 15th floor overlooking EPCOT. We were able to watch the fireworks every night from the balcony. The crowds were a little more than I was expecting but I truly don't think Disney has a slow time any longer. I was just hoping to beat the summer rush but that really didn't happen. We tried the new T Rex restaurant at Down Town Disney. It was really good and of course my kids loved the place. We always eat our first meal at the Rain Forest Cafe but now T Rex might be taking over that spot. One morning we had breakfast at Ohana and I must say it was the best breakfast we've ever had on Disney property. Chef Mickey was just ok this time around (for dinner) so I think our days there are over.

More later................

Oh and on a side note if I'm not around as much it's because it's summer and with the kids home and only one computer in the house I don't always have a chance to get online. My best bet is in the early mornings and if I sleep a little later than usual I hardly get on. Have a great summer!

Ahh so there is a new T REX place!
My friend is driving to the Keys this week ( crazy i know :scared1:) They plan on stopping in Downtown Disney to spend night and eat at the T Rex place. Her boyfriend planned it so she has no idea what he was talking about and neither did I lol.

I think my friend is staying there in September, I will tell her how wonderful it is. They have a suite pretty high up and was told they would see the fireworks.

We saw, and have a pic of the T-Rex place being built at DD when we were there in 2/08, or maybe it was our Gustav hurrication.

Cleaning today:sick:

Waiting to see Erik!

I've been to Natchez, but we stayed at The Briars bed and breakfast. We did have dinner at Monmouth Plantation one night and it was a very special night. Cocktails were served in the garden/courtyard when we arrived. You could walk around the beautiful grounds. Roosevelt (I still remember his name), the maitre de rang the dinner bell to tell us it was time to come in for dinner where we got to eat in the dining room of the plantation. He was so nice and formal dressed in tails. Dinner was delicious and Monmouth is a beautiful place.

Melrose Plantation is also beautiful and worth seeing while you are there.
