Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Quick fly by as I am beat.

Lori, can't wait to hear about your trip.

Bethany, "fine" is great. I am glad you are in a less crazy place this year.

Go Saints! I am hoping that we get to watch it tomorrow. We have to bugbomb the house tomorrow. It will be the first of many of this "little" fly season. DH and I were joking earlier that we are doing our best to get rid of them and the boys are doing their best to keep them alive. What I can gather is that they are coming in through the dryer vent, or a crack in the foundation made when the raised the house.

I haven't been posting as much because I am exhasted during the work week and I have a really slow computer, that thinks about posting. I write way more than ever show up on these boards. It is very frustrating, but has more to do with the fact that Windows Vista and our wireless internet doesn't get along well.

My boys seem to be doing well in school. I should get a better picture on Tuesday, when the progress reports come out. They don't seem as worried as last year so that is a good sign. I am really looking forward to next year when all three of them are at the same place.

I hope that everyone has a good Sunday.

Bethany - I am truly happy for you.

Cara - Hoping the boys' progress reports are great! I wish they had progress reports for college students.:rolleyes1

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!

Actually, it's probably a bit better than "fine"! I keep thinking something bad has to happen to balance it all out because I'm not used to everything being fine. :scared:
But you are now "home" in New Orleans.:) It's the Big Easy remember.

Glad to hear they are doing well.

Hope you catch up on your rest soon. I'm still in Orlando until Tuesday when I fly back to Little Rock. I've been in a "resting" mode. One hard day then one day of R&R. I had a manicure and pedicure one day at the place across from the outlet mall - $35 vs. some outrageous sum at Saratoga Springs Spa.

Lori - Hope your trip was fun, fun, fun.

I wish they had progress reports for college students.:rolleyes1

GO SAINTS!!!!!!!
Oh you know Kyle would tell you if he had a problem. I love how close of a relationship you have with him.

hey gals, home!! We missed our boys(Hershey and Snickers) and are glad to see them safe and sound.

I will be doing a TR just to get it all out.....

I may start today b/c my time is limited this week with school and lesson plans.
We may not even do our "regular' school schedule as the classes I teach this week outside this home is overwhelming enough. You know, making up for my absence!

Anyway, I hope everyone is well and Cara, I'll be commenting on DDP often.

Can't beleive it is over..... but my good friends are flying there now and I'll be looking forward to hearing from them! The magic moves on!

Lori

I have been tidying up the closet and stuff. I cannot believe how much clutter accumulates. :rotfl2:

Anabelle is a sloth today. She did end up having some reaction to the shots last night, but I thought the swelling on her nose was from running headfirst into the corner of the coffee table. Well, this morning her eyes got all puffy so I had to give her benedryl and she's been sleepy all day. The only good thing is that with her so mellow, I got a lot of cleaning done! I just feel bad she feels crummy. She watched the entire Saints game. :rotfl:

I think I'm getting a migraine. :headache:

Bethany: Sorry to hear that Anabelle had another reaction. I am glad you were quick with the benedryl. I hope that it isn't a migraine.

Lori: LOVE your TR so far, but I am so not a fan of cliffhangers so please go fast.... :rolleyes1

Tricia II: I am glad to here you are relaxing and enjoying yourself. You deserve to be pampered.

So, today we were in Whole Foods when they announced the final score of the Saints game. We had to bomb the house and so we missed watching the game, but we did hear snipets in the car on the radio. Sounded like my kind of game to watch. Anyhow, back to being in the produce at Whole Foods.. some guy says the score the seemed to have a little to much fun being the keeper of the microphone. He yelled "TWO AND 0 BAAAAAAAYYYBEEEEEA YEOOOOW"... poor lady picking apples dropped her bag to cover her ears. Anyhow... I say all that to say Goooo Saints!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

Lori - welcome back, can't wait to read your report

Bethany - so sorry to hear Anabelle had trouble with her vaccines again. Did they premedicate her this time? I wouldn't let them give her more than one vaccine at a time, and from now on only ones that are absolutely NECESSARY for her health.

Unfortunately rabies is required yearly by Louisiana state law, but your vet should be able to give you something that excuses her from it for medical reasons.

It's a migraine. :headache:

Jamie - I took her to a different vet this time than last, not necessarily because I thought the other one was bad, but because my schedule and theirs did not mesh. I was supposed to take her a few weeks ago and just took her on Saturday. :rolleyes1 They kept her for 3 hours; they gave her a shot and then waited to see a reaction. They said they didn't need to give her anything because she didn't have a reaction. The lady said she suspects it was the Corona one because that one is only given the 2nd time around. This time was weird because she didn't swell at all until about 10 hours (nose) and 24 hours (eyes) later, and it wasn't nearly as bad as last time. :confused3

My little Saints fan :lmao:

She sat in that chair the whole game! When it was over, she moved to a different spot!

It's a migraine. :headache: With luck, I'll even get another one in about a week. :headache:
