Don't you just love when you meet Disney fans in the darndest place?
I work as a contractor on a local military base and overall people are pretty cut and dry and serious around here. So there aren't many people that I chat with about fun things. Yesterday, I was checking on one of my projects (seeing how our subcontractor had done) in the main building on base. I was in this lady's office and noticed that she had a WDW button on her wall. So naturally, I said "Oh, you're a Disney fan. So am I." That opened the proverbial Disney can 'o worms and I stood in her office and we gabbed about WDW for at least 15-20 minutes.
We talked about the upcoming DHS marathon that she and her family are going to go do, past marathons she has done (she talked and I listened since I can't get my lazy tush motivated to do one), resorts, etc. We were both smiling like the Cheshire Cat talking about WDW and it was a nice mental mid-day break.
I, of course, had to ask her if she DIS'd. She looked at me weird
so I knew I had a non-DISser on my hands.
I told her about the boards, the podcast and the vast amount of info that one can get from the boards. She wrote it down and I imagine she'll be a DIS convert by the end of the week. I love meeting people that are also passionate about WDW and love it even more when it is in an unexpected place (like work).
