messanger bags?

I really like my Baggallini messenger bag. I bought one for our trip last year after reading about them on this site.

I bought one in periwinkle, and it's looking a little scuffed & dirty. So I'm thinking about purchasing a new one in navy blue for our upcoming trip in June; I'm also considering getting it in the "crushed nylon" fabric instead of the "rip stop nylon" fabric. Does anyone have one in the "crushed nylon" fabric? (I think that's what it's called anyway.)

I knew, w/ 2 kids, I would need something larger than a fanny pack for Disney, and I didn't want to carry a purse or backpack. W/ a purse (& backpack too the way I carry them), I'm constantly pushing the strap back up on my shoulder.

I do wear the strap across my chest - I love being hands free & not worrying about having to keep the strap on my shoulder. (I liked the concept of messenger bags so much that, after we returned home, I bought a smaller purse w/ a long strap that I can wear across my chest "messenger bag" style.)

Last year, there were many times I didn't even take the bag off when we went through the bag check - just unzipped the pockets for the security guards. And, most rides, I didn't take it off either. And, perhaps most importantly ( :teeth: ), the Baggallini is not so "girly" that DH minds carrying it.

I love all the various little compartments & pockets in the Baggallini - everything has its own place! I'm a legendary over-packer, & all my "stuff" fit nicely - -

In the very back zip pocket, I slid the park maps & a travel pack of wipes. In the middle, larger zip section, I was able to fit my Passporter w/ a small notebook & pen (I kept my ADR's, touring plans, receipts, etc in the passporter), a gallon-size Ziplock bag which contained 2 pairs of shorts, 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of underwear, & 2 pairs of socks for DD & DS, and 4 ponchos from Wal-Mart. (Granted, size 5T & size 3T shorts & t-shirts don't take up that much room...) In the first front zipped section, in all the various little pockets, I kept small bottles of first-aid spray, bug spray, sunscreen, & antibacterial gel, a tube of chapstick, some bandaids, Neosporin, a travel-size sewing kit, 3-4 Shout wipes, small bottles of children's Tylenol & Benodryl, a sandwich-size Ziplock bag of meds for me & DH, extra sandwich-size Ziplock bags, my ID, & DD's, DS's, & my "Key to the World" cards. In the very front pocket, I had lipstick, a compact, a few snacks, & normally the kids' sunglasses. On the side velcro pocket, I kept my rolls of film. My water bottle fit in the other side mesh pocket. And my cell phone fit (just barely) in the cell phone pocket. When my camera wasn't out & around my neck, it fit in the bag too.

Wow, the Baggallini sounds like the way to go! I've not seen these in "use", could you tell me if you feel like a pack mule with all that stuff in it? I'd appreciate it!
