Ok, I'm curious....do you use a messanger bag to carry your stuff around DW parks or a back pack? I was going the back pack route....sunscreen, water bottles, bandaids, moleskin, aspirin (I'll need it!!), dry socks, snacks....but I keep hearing about messanger bags and was wondering if they are better in some way. Any thoughts? How much are they typically? :sunny:

:confused3 I have been wondering the same thing. As for price since you are not going to want a cheap one of either they run about the same. Looking forward to an answer for this one.

all I can say is there was a thread on baggallini (or is it one g bagallini?) any way, they posted it was on www.ebags.com - messenger bag... and if you went thru the www.mousesaver.com site you got 20% off - so it was under $30 with shipping -

I got it in the mail, it is so much better than a fanny pac, smaller than a back pack - but I'm wondering do people really wear it that way? With the strap across the middle of your chest?

I kept losing things the way I went before, just throw everything in a tote bag - so that had to go!! This has enough pockets to help me keep organized so its worth a try - but I"m basing it on posts here!! :rotfl2: (hey they were right about crocs!! :rotfl2: )

I use a Disney messenger bag.

I don't like a backpack because you have to take it off every time you want to go in it. With my messenger bag, every time I want to pull out a park map, change film, get my wallet, etc. I can unzip my bag w/o taking it off. Love It!!

Can this be bought before you get to WDW? Also, can it hold a bottled water on the outside? Any pictures or website links would be appreciated?

I prefer the messenger bags (Yes, I have a Bagallini - LOVE it!). My reason for choosing a messenger bag over a backpack is because I always sling my bag over one shoulder anyway. With a backpack, that second strap gets in the way and seems bulkier than I want. Most of the time I wear my messenger bag over one shoulder, but if I am going on a ride, it is much easier to sling it across me. When I have it slung across me, I can move it to the front when riding rides (so I don't have to lean against it), to the side when walking through the park, and I can easily get anything I need out of it without taking it off.

My "Disney messenger bag" is black & made of a very nice canvas material.
On the front it has an embroidered Mickey Mouse & says "Mickey Mouse Club".

I saw almost the exact same one at the POP gift shop in January...except that embroidered on the front was "The Happiest Celebration on Earth". I wanted to get it but thought it was silly to get it because I already have a bag...but I've decided to get it when we return on our May trip.

I don't have any pictures...someone else might. One could probably be ordered by calling the WDW Merchandise number.

I don't think it can hold a water bottle on the outside.

So if you use a messenger bag - do you wear it at all times, or do you put it between your feet for the rides? I'm looking to get the baggelini to replace my fanny pack and backpack, but I'm scared if I have to take it off, I'll forget it somewhere...

I have one that is almost like a small pocket book called travelon from qvc and it was leather I was looking for a good size bag that was not to big or small so i bought this messenger bag i cant wait to use it. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Is this the Baggalini messenger bag everyone is talking about? It looks kind of large to carry around (as compared to say a fanny pack). Wouldn't it be easier to put diapers, clothes, wipes, snacks in a backpack and leave it in the stroller and then use a fanny pack for money & tix? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Also, I have the bag from QVC mentioned by previous poster. It is a great travel bag instead of a purse. Has a lot of zippered pockets. I used it in Russia to hold money, passports, tickets and was never concerned about the security of having the bag stolen or losing it.

No, mine never comes off. It doesn't get in the way when I sit.

I have the Baggallini bag, and I don't take mine off, I just keep it strapped around me and either put it on my side next to me and use it as an armrest, or move it so it is in front of me and I put my arms on it (it kind of sits in my lap). I even wore it on the roller coasters without any problems. You can adjust the strap, so I wore it strapped loosely to me, so I can move it around and get into it easily without taking it off. If I do take it off on a ride, I put my leg through the strap. That way it will trip me if I try to leave without it.

It is about 12" tall and 9" wide, but it is made of a "parachute" type material that is really light. If you don't put too much junk in it, it doesn't weigh much. Also, I am the type who likes to be prepared for anything, so I carry sunscreen, medications, gum, moleskin, sunglasses, camera, extra batteries, extra memory card, cellphone, ADR information, my touring plan, gum, my Brita water bottle, small Gatorade packs to mix in my water, small fan, travel size deodorant, Pal Mickey, etc. etc., so this bag is perfect for me. I don't have children (all that stuff is for me), and I didn't want to have to rent a stroller just to push around all my stuff :) . If you are someone who only carries a few things, then this might be too big for you

I've always taken a backpack, but after going through security at WDW in December, I bought a small mesenger style bag at MK. It only had the one compartment for security to search, and I put everything in a large zip-lock bag that I just pulled out for them to look at, then the bag was empty.

They literally made me empty every single compartment of the backpack for them to search. Never again! The fewer compartments, zippers, etc for security, the better.

I did the ziplock bag thing too. It made it really easy to go through security, and it was great when we went on the water rides. I just make sure it was zipped, and didn't have to worry about anything important getting wet.

I love this idea...I always use a messenger bag, but never thought to use the Ziploc inside. Great!!!...I'll be doing this in May!!

I got my Baggallini today, and I love it!! It came just in time and I can't wait to try it out in three days, yeah!! :goodvibes

I always have an issue with something that cuts across my chest right between the breasts. It the bag uncomfortable?? Sound like an odd question but gotta ask, I like the bag???

I got blue - dd likes blue, she is 9 and is wanting the bag for Disney!! So I ordered another one -

I also have 'chest' issues, so I would not wear it across my chest - I'll wear it over one shoulder, (I do like the suggestions of putting the bag in front on rides, I used to put my bag between my legs on some rides, this is better!!) that's why I went and ordered the Rick Steve Messenger bag - since DD liked the blue baggalini, and dh needs something for his upcoming mountain climbing trek... I thought it was worth 2 bags - I checked out Target and Walmart and didnt like the sling bags, and they cost $20+

:bounce: Thank you all so much! I just ordered my bagallini for my trip in April, should be here by the end of the month! I am thrilled - looks like a great bag and there are so many good reviews for it! Can't wait - thanks again! :Pinkbounc
