So if you use a messenger bag - do you wear it at all times, or do you put it between your feet for the rides? I'm looking to get the baggelini to replace my fanny pack and backpack, but I'm scared if I have to take it off, I'll forget it somewhere...
I have the Baggallini bag, and I don't take mine off, I just keep it strapped around me and either put it on my side next to me and use it as an armrest, or move it so it is in front of me and I put my arms on it (it kind of sits in my lap). I even wore it on the roller coasters without any problems. You can adjust the strap, so I wore it strapped loosely to me, so I can move it around and get into it easily without taking it off. If I do take it off on a ride, I put my leg through the strap. That way it will trip me if I try to leave without it.

Is this the Baggalini messenger bag everyone is talking about? It looks kind of large to carry around (as compared to say a fanny pack).
It is about 12" tall and 9" wide, but it is made of a "parachute" type material that is really light. If you don't put too much junk in it, it doesn't weigh much. Also, I am the type who likes to be prepared for anything, so I carry sunscreen, medications, gum, moleskin, sunglasses, camera, extra batteries, extra memory card, cellphone, ADR information, my touring plan, gum, my Brita water bottle, small Gatorade packs to mix in my water, small fan, travel size deodorant, Pal Mickey, etc. etc., so this bag is perfect for me. I don't have children (all that stuff is for me), and I didn't want to have to
rent a stroller just to push around all my stuff

. If you are someone who only carries a few things, then this might be too big for you
