Reminder about Posting and Board Manners


We have alot of new members and posters here on the VMK forums some of you are new to the DIS and to forums altogether.

Please read and learn the DIS posting Guidelines as well as the VMK boards guidelines, which are in addition to the DIS guidelines.

We are having alot of posts flaming and trolling the last few days. This is taken seriously and needs to stop. ..the posts will be deleted or the threads closed.

If the trolling does not stop serious action may have to be taken agaisnt the trollers.

Internet terminology, a troll is a person who posts inflammatory messages on the Internet, such as on online discussion forums, to disrupt discussion or to upset its participants. "Troll" can also mean the inflammatory message itself posted by a troll or be a verb meaning to post such messages. "Trolling" is also commonly used to describe the activity.

Flaming is the act of posting messages that are deliberately hostile and insulting.

We have had to spend way too much time removing, editing, and sending PM's this week-end.

LoriR and myself love to play VMK and as you all know from my post count I am a poster but have not had much time to do either, we would rather spend time with our VMK board buddies in the game than acting as police on the boards so please can we all behave, play nice on the boards and above all have fun!

You are both wonderful mods. you care so much about our safety here on the boards, it's amazing. It's wonderful to know everyone at the dis cares, but you two are amazing. I guess it just shows! Well, pun intended (because your mods which proves how nice you both are ).

. . . thanks, Mal, you're (NOT "your") absolutely right!. I think that it is essential for we older people (not that YOU'RE old, of course! Just ME!) to remind the younger people just how important it is to follow the rules! Otherwise they might grow up to be revolutionaries or something! The rules are there for a good reason, and should always be adhered to. That includes basic rules of composition, I should think, too. Let's all try to use proper grammar, punctuation, and above all, use capital letters! (Some of you "grownups" should be ashamed of yourselves on THAT account! Talk about setting a bad example for the kids!) Oh, and while we're at it, NO SPEEDING on the highways, either!

You too are the greatest as i have read it has been said alot that you both are great contributers to our society here on the dis boards and i think it is not said enough that you are doing a very excellent job of moderating it . Therefore i send my many thanks to you both as well as but not excluding your families who support all you do . THANKS YOUR THE BEST
