Message Board Line of Command.

This is something I've see on several boards, including here. Someone will make a name, then like 100 posts later, will act like they own the place. They will leave for a few days, and when they come back they act like there should be some huge celebration because lord knows we couldn't survive without them. They think they are entitled to something because they are _____. Honestly I think this is stupid. I think the ammount of posts, and the length of time posting at that particular message board should determine the ammount of respect you give certain posters. I think that you should earn your respect on a message board, not have it handed to you. And you know what, when you get 1000+ posts and have been there longer than a week, then I'll give you a celebration when you get back.

I dunno. I'm just sort of venting. I'm not in the best of moods right now.

Yes I've noticed this too. Now, I don't think I'm any better than anyone, simply because of my post count, But I will and do, own up to not really reading posts when the post count is under 50.

I think the amount of time a person has been here warrants the most respect, due to the fact that so many people will post fluff posts, simply to boost post count.

I totally agree with you.
I've seen this board go through SO many changes, its not even funny. So many different groups of the 'popular' posters, and the random people just trying to up their post count. I don't have that many posts, considering how long I've been a member, simply because I only post on topics that interest me, and not some random oneliner fluff posts.
But yeah... just saying I agree with you.

Okay. back off. I've been here for quite a bit longer than you have, and I know the way this board works. Youre making personal attacks now, and thats not the way things go around here. So seriously. you might want to back off. I've seen people banned for less, and I have NO problems reporting you. Ive had a pretty bad day, and I'm friends with mike. So maybe everyone should just take a step back from this. and let it go.

I lurked for a while before I started posting, but once I started I haven't really stopped since.

I agree.
One week does not equal a million years worth of respect.
It's kind of like working at a company. You are going to start small, somewhere like the mail office. In 20 years, you'll be well respected, sometimes it takes longer to climb the ladder.

I don't ask for people to respect me, I feel out of place wherever I go. If you find that I'm one of these people, so be it. But I try hard to not sound like everybody's waiting on me. You have no idea how many times I rewrite a post before actually posting it. I'm so paranoid about how people will react or whatever.
I've hardly been on here for a year. But I do know who's been on here for while, and I try my best to respect them.
