I belong to two message boards about a particular TV show. We discuss each episode, the characters, try to predict what will happen next, etc.

I recently found one of my posts on one board written word-for-word on the other board, by another poster. No quotes, or "I saw this on another board" or anything.

I don't even know the person. I am wondering if I should PM them and ask why they did that. It's a minor thing, but kind of annoying.

i'm sorry that happend. I dont really know what to tell you. It does happen all the time. I actually run my own message board called chatty moms and home away from home. Well i had these two members on home away from home for about 2 years they were friends and very very active... well one day i noticed they stop coming to board and i ended up getting a pm from someone else. those two girls went and opened up their message boards and took everything and i mean everything down to the graphics and put up a board and names it home sweet home.. i was so bad and there wasnt anything i could do

I would contact the Administrator of the site and complain. Youu might want to provide a link to the original post. I don't know about other boards, but here is you click on a little red and white triangle under a person's name you can send a message about thatpost which automatically goes to all the moderators of that forum, as well as to the webmasters.

Yes, IMO that goes against proper netiquette.

I probably would just call them on it publicly. (that is just how I am, LOL) You can link to your post and others will obviously see the time that your orignal post was made. That might make them think about doing this in the future.

But, it's sort of flattering, in a way, that they found your post so well spoken that they used it as their own.

What she said. But I'd probably contact the mods.
