DH and I have never been to one. So I am hoping someone here can fill me in a little about it. I understand it is by the international gateway. Other than that I am clueless.

We went to our first Merry Mixer last December. Last year, if I recall correctly, they were on Thursdays in December from 3-5 pm. It was nice--they had a DJ, cookies (big, fancy ones), drinks, etc. They also had characters and a Photopass photographer to take your picture. On the way out, they gave us free Christmas tree ornaments. If there's one while we're there this coming December, we'll try to fit it into our schedule.

We went in 2006 and we all enjoyed it. My son was out dancing with the characters. It was worth going.

We thought it was a lot of fun last December. They were on Thursdays. I've made some time for it this December just in case, assuming it will still be on Thursdays.

I'll be back home the first week of Dec (30-5). Have dates been announced yet (I assume based on this thread, no)?

Thanks.

I would love to attend a Merry Mixer in December. This will be our first one:)

It is worth going to and very fun. The characters are dressed in Holiday garb and I think Cris Angel was dressed as Minnie as she was floating off the ground.

I forgot to ask is there a charge for this?

We're going for the first time this Christmas. Can't wait-the kids are excited to check it out. :cool1:

Nope just need your Members card. They do sell things that are exclusive to the event as well as other DVC stuff . But all activities and entrance is free to members

Get there early and get right in Line this is the biggest line for the entire event and it gets downright long.

OK, I must be totally unobservant  , because I didn't see them selling anything besides a pin. What else was there?

Please explain what you mean by "this is the biggest line". Remember I have never been there before. So I am totally clueless as to what you are referring to.

Ok when we went in 06

They had a Line that the different characters came out for Photopass against a backdrop.

The had a crafts table with different small crafts for the Kids.

They had roaming characters and the Dance thing going on.

They had a few tables with cider ( I think) and cookies.

Then they had a section that had Event stuff ( Pins, Ornaments,) and a bunch of other DVC stuff ( Pins ,Plates, Car stuff, shirts) it was about 3 tables down one side ,2 tables across and then 4 tables up to the cashiers.

Then they had a Small Pintrading table , A few other Tables of Info or selling stuff.

Now when we entered in the Stage and dance area was on the left, then the craft stuff was the far left of the tent followed buy the Photopass area. Some of the Cider and sitting tables were in the back center and the right side was where all the tables were for info and selling.

I'm not sure if things have changed or not but this is how it was in 06 I tied to find some pictures with that in the background but couldn't.

We also recieved a free Ornamint upon entering as well.

Taking my mother with us this trip, she is not a member but is staying with us, and actually lives with us. Can she go with us to the mixer? Also, Will they have a mixer the first week as we are going 11/30-12/5? Thanks

Yes, I believe so. Technically DH is associate on my membership, and they let us in with only me having a member card. My guide also said that my parents were welcome to join us at the Merry Mixer (but they wound up resting instead). I think as long as you're not trying to bring in a big crowd of folks, they welcome family members that are travelling with you.

Thanks for all the info I'mNoPrince! You were a big help.
