I don't know about freebies, but there is a Merry Mixer pin you can buy! Limit two per member. I saw it on dizpins.

The gift this year is a Christmas ornament.

It's metal, and very nice.

We were there from 3:00 to 5:00. There was a large turnout. The regular cookies, water, hot cider.

Character greeting including M&M, Goofy, Pluto.

Kids could make their own Christmas tree ornaments.

Lots of pins available.

Games for the kids.

We had a table at the far end which became kind of a DISboards table. More than a dozen or so DIS'ers stopped by to chat. Besides myself, WebmasterDoc and CarolAnnC were also there.

DH and I went yesterday as well. We were fortunate to make it -- our flight landed at MCO at 2:40pm and thanks to great service from DME and a short check-in line at BWV, we managed to walk over to Epcot and catch the last half hour of the party.

It was our first experience going to any sort of DVC party and it was great! It was completely different than what I expected (I was thinking there would be a table of snacks and cider and 10-15 people stopping by on their way into Epcot). Ha! It was in fact a huge tent with lively music, Disney characters getting all the kids dancing in the middle of the tent, multiple cookie and cider stations, a cash bar and lots of people having a great time -- very festive and fun! At one point there were two huge reindeer characters leading the kids (and a fair number of adults, too!) in the "YMCA" song -- it was a riot!

We were among the DIS'ers who stopped by Caskbill's table. It was great to have the chance to thank him in person for his wonderful DVC Planner software!

If any of you are on the fence about going to one of these mixers, I highly recommend it! It really was fun and makes you feel like Disney appreciates its DVC members.

If you want to buy the pin and the other junk get there BEFORE they start. The lines were HORRID. I got in and then got out. Half an hour later I saw the woman who was right in front of me. She still was not near the tables to buy.

DVC if you read this. SEPERATE the purchases, pins only in one line, stuff people need to browse and think about in line two. WHAT A MESS!

Other then that it was fun!

We may be there on the 28th. It is our day to be at the MK and we have dinner reservations at 6:30. Is it worth changing our plans? Do we get a free ornament if we attend?

They opened a little after 3, but people in the know were lined up waiting to get in. If you want to buy stuff that's what I would do. (I don't believe in standing in long lines to give Disney MORE money. If they want my money they have to make it easy for me!)

We were there yesterday, as well. I agree that if you want to purchase merchandise, get in the line right away. We had our pictures taken and then went to the merchandise line. It was a long wait just to purchase the pin. Other than that it was great. Very much like the last two years.
