For the same reason the site is always out of date, I guess. :headache:

The Tuesday dates I listed here and at DVCNews.com are accurate. They were provided by a contact in the PR department.

Hi, Diane. Now if a person from the DIS was running the DVC Member site, I bet it would be up right away.

I just called DVC about my trip in 2 weeks. I also asked about the Mixer. I was told they do not yet have the dates!

Anyone else ticked off that the MM is INSIDE a park this year?? :scared1: You should not need theme park tickets to attend this event!! :sad2:

I guess this is to discourage locals, and those who planned to make the MM day a non-park day. This really chaps my hide!

Yes, I am annoyed. This is only my second trip to WDW as a DVC owner. Last year when I went, there was neither Welcome Home Wednesday nor Mixer. This year, there is again no Welcome Home Wednesday. Fortunately, I was already planning to go to Epcot. I just had to change the day of my plan. But I guess next year I'll miss it again if I skip Epcot. It's just not right.

So you actually "plan" to skip certain parks on certain years? I can't go to a DVC/WDW resort and NOT go to all the parks. That's why we have Annual Passes. I like being able to just bop in for a meal of one attraction if I choose to. The reality is that we spend nearly every day at the parks anyway, and we usually have about 28 days on our APs each year.

I haven't been to a Mixer in 7 years because they don't hold them in February, May, June, July or October. And they aren't held at Disneyland which we visit every summer.

If it fits into plans, go and enjoy. But DVC cannot accommodate every member's schedule.

Having been to one at the cold, outdoor International Gateway location, I'd say moving it indoors is a step in the right direction. Tried the Contemporary last year and that didn't go over well so they're looking at other sites. Better than just sticking with the same 'ole, same 'ole IMO.

I usually only go to 2 parks each week I go. I hope that doesn't make me a bad person LOL
I have a 10 day non-expiring ticket, with water parks. This year is Epcot (haven't been since Feb. 2008) and HS (haven't been since Dec. 2006).
2006: March.: MK and Epcot; Dec.: HS and Kennedy Space Center
2007: Didn't go
2008: Feb: AK and Epcot; Dec.: Seaworld
2009: Sept.: 4 nights for birthday: MK and Typhoon Lagoon
2010: Dec., first stay on property, Jambo House: AK and MK

I e-mailed Member Services expressing my displeasure about a lack of MMM the last week of December. The response I got was that no dates are official until posted on dvcmember.com. Makes you wonder!

Why would this discourage locals?
Most of them have APs.

Can anyone tell me if you need to make a reservation? I've looked around but can't seem to find out definitively. I have a 7:20 reservation at the Rose and Crown that night so the timing is perfect.

I've never been, but in my extensive research on the subject LOL I've never seen it mentioned that a reservation is required. It's a walk-in.

No reservations: it's a walk-in / walk-out deal. All they ask is to see your membership card and ask who's with you so the riffraff can be kept out :rotfl:

I'm surprised by the limited dates! Last year we were able to attend the week AFTER Christmas last year and since hubby will be with us this year we were hoping to attend. :(

No, just bring your DVC ID card.

this will be the first year in a long time that we aren't going to go get an ornament and a snowman or stocking rice crispy treat. It seemed like a drag last year it was sooo big at the contemporary.
