I had to stay home today - I came down with a bad UTI that just slammed me out of NOWHERE on Thursday night.
I tried all the home remedies and OTC meds and it got worse, so cancelled the drive to be with family and suffered until an out of hours medical clinic opened at 10. Got my anti-biotics and now, while not wonderful, I'm not muttering curse words under my breath every time I go to the toilet or sitting on the toilet until my legs go numb
.
So I missed Christmas with my family. . .if I feel better, we'll go tomorrow. In the meantime, I just feel really blessed:
1. Antibiotics exist and are available. 100 years ago this wasn't the case.
2. An urgent care/after hours clinic is available in my hometown and is open on Christmas. A year go, this clinic didn't exist.
3. Yes, I had to drive into the big city to find an open pharmacy, but one was available and I got my script filled.
4. My DH is sweet and loving and just wants me to get better.
5. I have good insurance. $30 co-pay at the clinic, $5 co-pay at the pharmacy.
6. I live in a comfy house and have a good job.
7. My parents are still alive, and I have some wonderful dear relations. DH's parents have passed, so we treasure the loved ones we have.
8. My DH got me a white chocolate snowman for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
