I was just thinking if it would be a good idea to add an M or F next to each persons name in case anyone wanted to get something more gender specific?

Wonderful!!! Thanks so much!! We aren't going to WDW before.... Still debating on maybe going after. It will be my husband, Jeremy and Me, and our 4 kiddos! My MIL & FIL also have a room and my SIL & her hubby and 2 girls. I think she found a FE group the other day. (As I didn't think it would be as much fun for us to be in the same group since we are cruising next door to each other. Lol). I have soooo many questions and BEYOND EXCITED!!! I wanna pack RIGHT NOW!! Lol. From reading, I see that yall are very seasoned and not green behind the ears when it comes to DCL! That is awesom!! Here's my info:

We will just be driving straight from home to port. It's about 12-13 hours. But we are leaving in plenty of time so that we can stop and get a hotel when we get tired from driving. We do love road trips! Talked about flying down, but decided we would just drive instead. How many suitcases/bags are we allowed? What I've read, looks like only 2 per person. Is this correct?

Road trips are fun! Much cheaper than you all flying I dare say also. Which resort are you staying at before your cruise? Yes that is right 2 checked in bags per person. Thanks for asking about what character I like. I forgot to put this! I like Donald and all things Star Wars!

I'm not sure where we are staying the night before. My MIL made those arrangements and honestly, I've been too deep into cruise research to even think to ask her! Lol.

And I must add.... That many stellar moons ago when Star Wars first appeared.... (I have an older brother) whilst playing with every single action toy that was made, I did think I was Princess Lei. (Sp?) lol. Oh too be a lil girl again with big bun hair covering both my ears!! Hahaha. Good times!

Thanks for answering bout luggage. I'm nervous bout that... I'm one of those that like to be "over" prepared for anything and have the tendencies to pack everything but the kitchen sink! I will say tho, that all my traveling this summer and thru the fall, I'm trying very hard to break myself from this with my packing lighter! But... The mini-me is def gonna hafta bring along her princess attire (that's one suitcase!) and then there's pirate night for the fam. And a few Christmas gifts to exchange. (Maybe I should just buy those on board instead) and my FE gifts. And I don't even know where to begin with clothes for myself!! Haha. Sorry... I'm rambling again! It's just sooooo great to be able to chat with someone who actually has their per say sea legs!

Oh I just adore Star Wars. I wasn't very impressed with the newer movies I prefer the first 3 but I have high hopes for The Force Awakens. Release date is 18th Dec I hope they show it in the cruise!

We come from the UK staying 2 weeks. We only pack enough for 1 week of clothes. We use the resort laundry and if needed on The Dream. Also ebags packing cubes. Do you use them Jennie? Oh my word they are amazing. Jo does all our packing due to my disability. She just loves them. When we get to the resort we just place the bags in the drawers.

It is exciting! I love the cruise. Claire can't wait either. She and her family are also from the UK. They have been at Christmas before we haven't. We have been to Disney World over 10 times but never at Christmas! Amazeballs.

Too right ladies you spoil those little angels! To be cherised. Jennie look up ebags packing cubes and see the result. They are great. You can get a different colour for each member of the family!

Oh Jo and I have been to Pigeon Forge. We did a driving tour of the deep south many moons ago. Loved it! New Orleans, Smoky Mountains, Nashville etc. Such fun.

We are early diners on the cruise. We also prefer a table to ourselves. You can opt for early or main dining before sounds like you did that but if you want a table just your family you have to tell them when you board.

Rooms are ready about 1pm usually. If you want to go swimming before pack swim wear in your carry on.

What else? Oh yes the wav phones are neat but don't loose them they charge you a big fine!

Anything else Claire? Any tips for the kids?

When you first get on board go to the port adventures desk to get tickets for the Princesses and Elsa and Anna meet and greets.

Do take an autograph book with you, just as you would at WDW.

The kids club spaces are fantastic! Last year on Magic, my DD wasn't sure about being left, so we made sure to make use of the "open house" sessions so that she could still enjoy the area with us watching.

The app is really great. It tells you what character meet and greets are happening and when, and you can also look up the menu's for dinner for each night.

So my mother and I are sitting down making ourselves a tentative itinerary for our sailing - and we are wondering about the pirate night - is that always a certain day? Also, will we find out our dining rotation in advance or once we arrive? My eyes are going to roll right out of my head from scouring the long history of posts about this. I know I'm not the first to inquire but can't find a consistent answer. Thanks in advance friends!

Pirate night on our sailing is going to be Sat, Dec 26. If you log into your reservations on DCL's website you can see the details for Day 3 of the sailing which states this. We've only done a couple of DCL sailings in the past and we received our dining rotation when we boarded.
