Nope! It is the miracle that I needed. I had spent years on a high dose of prednisone, so my appetite was out of control. I was gaining and gaining. I was helpless. I could not come off the prednisone, but I was getting bigger and bigger. I asked if Meridia would counter the prednisone.
It took my doc awhile to research my history to figure out if I could take it (he is a thorough Dr.) that took about 6 months, in the mean time, my prednisone dosage was coming down. He finally gave me the OK, and wahla! I do not eat the house anymore, I have no desire for food what so ever. I eat because I have to. never thought I would see the day. It has enabled me to not make food my number one thought, and I can make that lifestyle change. I will not be on it much longer, I have one more month, and I don't think he is going to renew my script, he is amazed at how well I have done on it with no side effects. It can cause high blood pressure, so I am montitored closely, and so far, bp is normal. He told me he has never had a patient be as successful as I am on it. It is because I understand that it is not the medicine alone, that I HAVE to make permanent changes, for life. Meridia is the crutch that I needed to get me there. I don't even take it everyday anymore, and on the days I am not on it, I still don't think about food.
