Merging Saratoga reservation?

Next week, I have a reservation at SSR for Dec 7 in a preferred studio, then Dec 8 & 9 in a standard studio. I booked late and so just took what I could get at the time at the same resort. I've been stalking reservations for the past month (and have a waitlist request in for Riviera), but have been unable to get any studio Dec 7-10 in its entirety. So, as it sits right now, we'd have to move rooms after one night, which obviously isn't ideal.

So I'm curious if anyone has any tips/tricks on how to get into a single room/reservation? We really don't care if it's a preferred or standard studio, so my plan is to just ask at check-in if they're able to put us in a single room, either standard or preferred, and hope for the best. We'd also be open to switching to a completely different resort if something opened up, but that doesn't seem likely now that I'm about a week out. And, if it turns out they can't do anything, we'll just switch rooms and be happy that we're spending time at Disney. :)

To merge them they will have to be the same caetgory. So the unit has to become available.

FYI, I did chat with Member Services to see if they had any suggestions and they indicated my best shot was to skip online check-in and check with the front desk when we get there. But I thought I'd also check with the community here, as sometimes I'm amazed at the amount of knowledge here!

Since the room of the other views are not available, being able to stay in the same one is doubtful. We had to do this once…for the same reason.

Your only hope is that someone who booked doesn’t show up and there is a last minute cancellation.

But fingers crossed for you.
