merging reservations

I have a res that I need to have merged. We added a day to our Boulder Creek as a separate reservation both for a 1 bdrm w/the same view. When the merge happens will that mess up my existing park reservations?
No. The park reservations are linked to tickets. Not hotel stays.
 
Well I just now had my reservations merged. This is after 3 weeks and 1 day and multiple calls to MS.
 
It makes no sense that we can't merge reservations ourselves on our dashboard.

I understand why we don’t. Merging requires a cancelation of one reservation , the room to be held, and it added back in the other one there. Some merges are more than just two.

And, can you see if someone tries it, had an issue, and then can’t get it back. It would be a nightmare…at least with it being in the hands of MS, any mistakes means they have to find a way to make it right.

I agree that it should stay with Member Services.

However, it seems to me, that merging is becoming more and more common as the fights for rooms gets nastier and nastier.

It's a symptom of how DVC now functions. And it stinks.

These are all things that can be done by a competent reservation system and should not need a person to babysit. I actually think they will get to the point where you can do it on your own. The more time MS spends on merging, the higher it will rise on the IT project list.

I would rather have a less sophisticated website that works well all the time and leave specially things to MS.

I for one would never do this myself and will always rely on MS.
 
I wish we could do it ourselves, too. But, MS makes sure that the rooms are exactly same type and view, and that the names all exactly match. I called but was also told to email my request, took about 5 days.

I would like to be able to set the priority myself on park tickets on MDE, to set the order in which they are to be used. But no, we can't be trusted with that either, another phone call is needed. (I often have several different types of tickets under my name and my sons, most people would not have this issue of course). I have had the system use a pass with years left before it's expiration date, before using one with on specific valid date.

I added a day to my June reservation. I did online chat to get MS to merge, and she told me she had to put in a message to have it merged. And now it's been 4 days. When did MS lose the ability to merge-I've done this by phone plenty of times in the past.
I recently did this and it took almost a week for it to show up in my dashboard. The DVC member did tell me it could take that long so I was not worried. It was all set in a week. Good luck

I don't remember the address, but I remember where to find it. On the home page, in the upper right, there should be a "contact us". If you click on that, it should give you both a phone number and an Email address. That's also the Email I use for making room requests.
 
Just had my reservations merged yesterday. Was told it would take 3 days, but it was 16 days. At least it is done, but I think Member Services should be more forthcoming when telling people it’s a 3 day wait.

Sounds like it was an uniformed CM.

I have had several done in the past few months and have always been told 7 to 10 but the last two was told that it was taking a bit longer.

My last one took exactly 10 days!
 
I added a night by waitlist coming through, it took about 10 days a month or so ago.
 
I requested a merge of 2 reservations, they told me it would be about 4 weeks. I think that is crazy. I thought about just cancelling one of my reservations, so I did and then modified the other reservation but it was saying I did not have enough points, so I quickly went and got the other reservation back. It is during marathon weekend and so I do not want to mess with it anymore

You were lucky that neither the waitlist nor a stalker picked up that reservation!
 
Amazing news for me. I got my 1 night waitlist on Thursday (Bwv standard studio) for arrival this Tuesday. With only 6 days before checkin I sent an email (contact us) to MS. Pretty much told them I didn’t think it was enough time to merge, but was asking anyhow, but understood if it didn’t happen. ONE hour later, I get an email back saying they took care of it. I checked, and my reservations were merged. I was shocked! Not only did I get my waitlist, Bwv standard studio one night, only 3 hours before the waitlist expired that night, but they responded to my email right away and took care of my request.
