We have a stay coming up starting next Friday in a Kidani 1 BR Savannah view. We were going to have to switch to a studio the last night but I just was able to grab a 1 BR Savannah. So I did a chat and said since we were so close to the stay could they just put in the notes between the two reservations that it was a continuous stay so that we may not have to switch rooms.

The MS Chat agent said "I can do the merge. in fact I can do it right now". He literally did the merge while I was on the chat. It took 5 minutes.......

I've also done this when checking in at the resort. It wasn't even on my radar until the cast member offered to merge them so we wouldn't have to switch rooms. Very accommodating.

I could be wrong, but when checking in they likely marked it as a continuous stay (which is what I had asked about). I don't think the CMs at the resort would have the ability to merge. Recently merge requests have been taking about 10 days. That's why I was shocked he offered to do it while I was chatting with him.

They've done this for me while I'm on the phone as well. It seems they have very different permissions, depending on who you are talking to.

I know they used to be able to do do this quickly and on the phone and what not. Then earlier in the year (or maybe last year) the procedures changed and it seemed very few CMs were "allowed" to do it.

I'm sure I am got lucky with who I was chatting with. I was still quite surprised when he offered to do it right then.

Merging a future stay is a low-priority task. They log it and work on it later when they have time. Merging an imminent stay is higher priority, and I'd expect them to be willing to work on it right away.

I think when the trip is close, they do it for you vs sending in the form. I am glad that it’s done!
