Merge reservation/bookings?

It's two different memberships, so they can't do anything about it, but they said I may "get lucky".
Just chat/email/call MS, give them both confirmation numbers, and ask for a “continuing stay” notation to be put on both. That’s the standard notification for you to stay in the same room, which Disney prefers too, to save on housekeeping costs. When you arrive to check in, talk to the front desk to confirm it’s in place, so if it isn’t they can fix it then, when it’s easier. You may or may not need to check out then check right back in, but you shouldn’t have to pack and leave.

They were the ones that said I may get lucky, but when I get closer to the actual date I’ll make the call. Right now that one night is set to be replaced if a waitlist comes thru, so we’ll see what happens.

If the other WL doesn’t come through, is this one night in the exact same resort/villa size/booking category as the other nights you’re matching? If it’s exactly the same, I don’t know why you’d have to get lucky to stay in the same room!

I think it’s one of those comments to cover in case something happens and you were forced to move.

We do it regularly and have yet to move. I even asked to switch locations last fall at SSR, and they were able day of to find me the 3 nights, booked on two memberships, in the same room!

When I’m not sure I want a merge (still solidifying travel plans) I will put myself as lead guest on one reservation, and my co-owner spouse who will very likely be there too on the other. Then later we can match lead guests and merge if we decide we want to!
Super smart

I had an interesting, or rather alarming, experience with a merged reservation just this year. I always book my home resort at the 11 month window. I book it in two reservations of 5 nights each. Then I decide if I want to modify part of it or all of it at the 7 month window to stay at a different resort(s). So I did this at VGF, booking a DELUXE studio in 2 five night stays. I decided I didn’t want to change resorts for this trip. This was about 4 months or so before the trip. So I hop on the MS chat and ask them to please merge the 2 reservations into one. No problem they said. So a few days later I get the typical cancellation email for the second reservation. I happened to be on my iPad so I logged in to check the reservation and there was now only one reservation, perfect. But then I looked at the room type and now I’m booked for 10 nights but in a RESORT studio! Fortunately the dropped Deluxe studio hadn’t been snatched up, and I was able to modify my reservation. I would have been a very unhappy camper if I hadn’t noticed this or hadn’t been able to get my Deluxe studio back. I’m thinking this might be a problem that is unique to the VGF, but now I’m wondering if it could also happen at the poly if the studio categories are the same number of points and the CM who is doing the merge isn’t paying close attention. Just be aware!

Oh my! Did you notify MS of the mistake? I'd have sent an email, at least, just pointing it out so that the CM responsible could be educated on how different the two studios are and why they're not interchangeable.

I didn’t at the time, but that’s a good idea. I will do that. I will also mention it the next time I request a merge. I’m set up exactly the same way right now for my April, 2026 trip.
