Meredith's explanation to Matthew...

I didn't buy it!! After having diiner with her family I believe that Meredith really thought she wanted to be with Matthew because he's so perfect (not to me-just had to clarify that). Then Ian came over.... Oh, no... she realizes that she is in love with him..what to do now? That is why she was so aggitated on the last date with Matthew.

The tension on that stage was the most real emotion I've seen since the Bachelor series began.

Matthew was sincere in his feelings, and he and most of the viewers thought he was deceived by that single line. Like he said, she left "no room for doubt".

It just hurt my soul to see such an excellent person so hurt by people who don't deserve to breathe his air.

I am convinced that he will be blessed after all this. He is truly a person with integrity.

Can't say the same about many people in reality shows!

Merideth said that she was trying to find out from him exactly where he was as far as his feelings for her. Kinda bad choice of words to find out his true feelings. He did say to her last night that if she wanted to know his "real" feeling than all she had to do was ask and not tell him she wanted a ring from him.

He also talked to her about when she knew who she would pick. She was upset after her final date with Matthew because she knew she was picking Ian and had to say goodbye to Matthew.

Meredith and Ian are on GMA right now!

I thought her explanation was lame. But, again, Matthew was a gentleman both with Meredith and Ian. He definitely came out on top and not for nothing but Ian still gives me the creeps

I agree with all of you I felt like she really played him with that line about wanting a ring from him... He was such the real deal, to any single girls living in his area, I say go find him & never let him go!! Those guys don't come around too often....

As for Ian, I give that relationship three months TOPS!

They replayed her explanation on GMA this morning, and there really wasn't an explanation. She said, "I wanted to know what your feelings were, I just want you to be ok". From what Matthew said this morning, he didn't think it was an explanation either.

What really strikes me, is that this is the first time, in all of the Bachelor shows, that the dumped person is still hurt and upset months later. Remember when Kelly Jo was on the After the Final Rose show? She was smiling and bouncing around, saying she was over it. The same with all the other "rejects". This makes me really believe that Matthew was truly in love with Meredith. He admitted to Diane Sawyer this morning that he is still hurt, but not angry. He really seems upset and depressed after all this time. You can tell by just looking at him. He was also clearly uncomfortable when Lara Spencer asked him this morning to go over and talk to Meredith & Ian. I'll bet he can't wait for all the scheduled interviews to be over.

Diane Sawyer asked Meredith and Ian if this was for real and if they really planned on getting married. They said "of course" and then Diane said "So what will you give me if this marriage never happens?" Ian just said "Well, you can call us on it then".

Matthew just wished them the best then. He is really a classy guy, and any girl would be lucky to have him.

That was some seriously painful television to watch last night. You don't often see that sort of real, raw emotion televised except on the news. Poor Matthew!

I really liked Meredith when this show started ~ I truly thought she was a real down to earth girl, then after the last couple of episode's I really had no respect for her what so ever. Then after last night's *after the rose* show, I despise her........her telling Matthew that it was a bad way of her trying to find out where he was at with his feelings??? You don't tell someone that you would be honored to receive a ring from them and talk about having their children.........just to find out how they feel for you. Shame on you Meredith for ripping the heart out of this man........and shame on the whole Bachelor series.

I agree with MickeysMommy.........Ian gives me the creeps! I don't know what it is about him for sure.........but he creeps me out!

Matthew is a first class man..........somebody will definately be a lucky girl to have him in their life!!

I agree kimber! I really liked her when the show started and I saw sparks with her and Matthew from the beginning!
How dare ABC edit the show that way, how dare Meredith...they are toying with a man's emotions....

I watched the tape from last night. You could see how Matthew was trying to hold back tears and anger at the same time. Through it all he held his dignity.

All Meredith could do was give stupid excuses for her behavior. I was waiting for the line "I'm not responsible for your emotions .... why can't you just be happy for me." That would be just like her. Then there's Ian saying "I hope he can move on .... "

Oh I think that this little Bachelor Crowd has turned on Meredith!

Remember about a 6 months ago when all of America LOVED her? And we all thought that Bob was so stupid to let her go? Yeah....now look at what SHE has done!

We did the same thing with Bob! Loved him with Trista, hate him now with that soap chick he cheated on whats-her-face with!

I really hope that Matthew finds TRUE LOVE, but just not on this show! I really do not want to hate him!

P.S. I did it with Trista too...boy did she get annoying by the time she got married! UGH and the Pink!

All of the other "losers" on the Bachelor have lost and disappeared. Matthew is getting a lot of air time whining. I wonder if he is getting paid to do it. I'm not buying it.
