Merchandise sales at Universal

Is there any way to find out what they are doing in merch sales per person at Universal thanks to Harry Potter? It sounds like it must be an astronomical number. I know one of Disney's problems is that they are cutting hotel rooms, giving away free food, and getting people here, but then the people aren't spending much money in the shops. Universal right now is having hour long waits for Butter Beer (at least that's what it seems) And this on top of having premium prices for their hotels. I read so many reviews where people are just buying a ton of stuff, and surely merchandise sales is something Universal and Disney have to list somewhere.

I have no idea where to get accurate numbers, but I can say that that the prices of stuff in WWOHP were bordering extortion, really, the picture for FJ was $35! Chocolate frogs are $10....the cost of food is less expensive overall than WDW tho, we spent far less per day at Universal than WDW for a family of 4. While WWOHP was selling everything in sight , we did not see other merchandise flying off the shelves in other lands...so other than WWOHP, I would say merchandise sales are low at both parks overall.

I don't think Universal ever sells much merchandise (except thing 1 and thing 2 shirts), so this must come as a big surprise to them.

IS that true for potter merchandise. I know annual pass discount DOES not apply to potter stuff.

Looking at my receipt, I see discounts applied to buck beak plush, pins and a bag. Strange that there wasn't a discount applied to the marauders map.

We had annual pass applied to all our Honeydukes items and a mug I purchased at Filch's. Perhaps it is stuff from the Noble Collection that is excluded?

we only bought postcards , stamps, chocolate bar, jelly beans, chocolate frog and chocolate wand, all but the stamps were discounted the AAA 10% discount for us. DD bought her butterbeer on her own and forgot to ask if the accepted the card at the stand, so no help for you there.

Limited edition items are not getting the 10% discount. The Broom and the map we bought did not get the discount.

Is that just for the picture by itself? That seems crazy.

WAS FOR AN 8X10 ( might have had a second smaller photo included, I have forgotten) since we did not buy it I am not sure if the frame was plastic or paper, but was stamped with the date which is what the TM was pushing with us, he kept saying how impressive it woud be for us to have the date PRIOR ot the grand opening to show everyone that we were priority preview guests...all I know is I heard $35 and tuned the rest out, sorry!

An 8X10 is a nice-sized picture though. Did the pictures look pretty good? Were there smaller options?
