Do you think I would be able to order a grilled cheese sandwich at Prime Time Cafe? It's not on the menu. I'm a vegetarian. The only thing I see on the menu is the stuffed pepper, but I hate peppers. I really wanted to eat there because it looks like a neat place to dine. Anyone have any experience ordering something not on the menu there?

They do have both cheddar and swiss cheeses available at lunch on items as toppings, so they do have cheese slices in the kitchen. However, normally at a restaurant when you talk about substitutions it involves switching side dishes or customizing a menu item by changing ingredients.

You are asking for them to make you a dish that is not on the menu. How about something as the chicken ceasar salad with sliced swiss and cheddar cheese instead of the chicken? That sounds doable and may work.

We asked for a grilled cheese in June for DD who is a vegetarian, and no luck. However, she was able to get a sandwich (the "Stacked Sandwich") made without the meat. She wasn't too interested in the roasted pepper entree, so this worked out to be a good substitution.

The sandwich was not grilled or hot. She liked it, though.

DD10 didn't want anything off the adult menu, they gave her an adult portion of mac n cheese which was on the kids menu. This was last week.
