menu recomendations

the only thing we were disappointed with was that we were only allowed to have 1 basket of bread per meal, which was about 6 peices of bread. There were 5 of us in our family and sometimes we would run out of the wonderful breads each everning but were told we could not have more...we were not wasteful...we kinda thought this was odd... :confused3

Is there any food you absolutely hated?
I didn't care for the Teryiaki Soft Shell Crab from the Philippians (Small World Menu)

txaggie94gigem: That is odd because on our 3 cruises we ate so much bread. I don't usually eat bread but found the bread on the ship to be some of the best I've ever had. We went through a couple baskets each night and wouldn't have had trouble getting others.

For food we didn't like, we are the odds ones it seems. I tried the escargot and really didn't like it. My DH and kids tried the lobster and again noone liked it because of the spice that's used on it. I'm so happy that we were all able to try them though. I would have never spent the money at a restaurant to try escargot and my family rarely gets a chance to try seafood because I am very allergic and can't cook it or go to a seafood restaurant.

I hope they have a lot of selections for those of us that only eat poultry and fish! Gonna be there next week! :Pinkbounc

there is a pasta dish with some shrimp and scallops, and it was not terrible, but it was something I would always skip on future cruises. the shrimp were awkwardly opened yet still in their shells, the scallops mushy, not firm but tender, and the sauce on the linguine was forgettable.

plenty of good dishes on most menus though. chicken and seafood eaters can find much to enjoy. in spite of my unfavorable opinion of the pirate menu as a whole, i find the food overall on disney to be good and sometimes very good, and certainly very suitable for a family cruise. it is not 5 star gourmet, but then if a person is looking for 5 star gourmet on a cruise ship, they should not look to Disney for their cruises.

I wasnt crazy about most of the Animators menu....the veal chop was dry, overly breaded, and small, very hard to eat.....

I love the veal chop and risotto that comes with...there is also a blue cheese and asparagus risotto on one of the vegetarian menus that is fabulous...every soup I tried was wonderful, but other than the Greek salad I wasn't impressed with the Magic's way with salads. We always eat a couple baskets of the bread, yummy and a couple different varieties each evening.
