wondering what cruisers would recomend as menu selections on the Disney Magic

Your servers will be very helpful in guiding you toward the best selections...Nevertheless, here are some of my favorites...

Animators Palate - Maple glazed salmon

Lumieres-Escargot,braised lamb shank,creme brulee

Parrot Cay - banana bread, baby back ribs

Palo - Calamari, Filet with gorgonzola, and of course chocolate souffle....

If you are not sure you will like something order it anyway. If you do not like it, your servers will gladly take it away and return with a replacement. Or you can order two different things at the same time.

Animators Palate was the best meal I had on board. I had the duck and goat cheese flat bread and the pan fried veal chop. And one night I had an appetizer of lump crab baked in cheese sauce (or something) and it was really wonderful! I think it may have been pirate night?

You can also enjoy a nice meal at lunch at whichever reataurants are open that day. We ate at Tritons and it was wonderful, especially the white chocolate cheesecake!

Have a wonderful vacation!

Okay I don't cruise until Sept and my mouth is watering. I won't visit this thread again until August :guilty: it is too depressing!!!

Don't forget the Beef Tenderloin with a Bernaise sauce in for the Best Of Menu.

I second the motion for beef tenderloin with bernaise sauce. Also chocolate lava cake - the most chocolately dessert I've ever had! Lobster. Cauliflower soup and sweet onion soup.

Just point to the menu and say in a loud firm voice "1 of each thank you". Just kidding, they probably would if you asked. My BIL's weight is 300+ and is over 6 feet tall. Boy can he eat!!! On our last cruise, with out really wasting much, he went thru multple appitisers and main coarses. And dessert? Dont get me started! Then when we thought we would burst, the servers brought out "some extras" for us to try. Each night I think our table of 13 had at least 1 of everything on the menu and some stuff not on the menu. Surely enough to feed 3 times our number comfortably. It killed my Atkins diet to this day. But what a way to go!!!! Man do I miss our last cruise. :mickeybar

One night they serve caramel ice cream and a chocolate layer cake...these dessert items are ordered separately; however, if you ask, you can get both items on one plate. It's an absolutely delicious combo. Once I ordered it the rest of our table wanted it too. :)

I guess my suggestion isn't so much the ice cream and cake, but the freedom to try two or three (or more) new things. My hubby tried escargot and found that he really likes it. Don't be limited by those items that you know...but mix it up and try new stuff. The worst thing that can happen is that you'll have to ask for a different entree.

Have fun!!!

i completely agree...i tried at least1-2 new things each night...some iliked but some not. I just figured that where else would i have the opportunity to try these new things...i would never go to a restaurant and pay$20 or more for an entree i had never tried before...most restaurants would be offended if you did not like something but disney loves to get you whatever you want....i personally do not like caviar but i was thrilled that my 11 year old tried it and liked it. My 5 year old hates all seafood but she loved the lobster...so they like the finer thinks...lord help me!

"can you order more than one appetizer"

Oh my. There is such a world of delight awaiting you. From your question we can gather you were raised to be polite, modest, unassuming...a model citizen. All the while a decadent parallel universe of all inclusive cruising awaited.

Yes. Just look at the menu, and then look at your waiter, nod your head, and just say "yes".

On our recent 3 night Wonder, our DS(21) decided to try the escargot in Tritons on the first night. He loved it!!! Our server realized how much he loved it(3 servings of it later), and on our last night while we were in PC for our rotation, ran to Tritons and brought him 3 servings of the escargot as a surprise. Talk about service!!!!!

Cruising in Septemeber, can't wait. Will start diet now (no food until Sept!!!) just so I can order the menu!!! :rotfl2:

I'm sure it's all good, but are there any offerings that the Disney master chefs don't quite get right? I only have limited tummy space each night.

don't be bashful about ordering whatever it is you want....believe me, the servers have seen it all.....I usually order 2 appetizers instead of a salad and an entree.....then of course we order the desert "sampler" i.e. a little of the whole dessert menu....

I am going to get on the treadmill because we leave in 2 1/2 weeks and I think I gained 5 lbs just reading this thread.... YUMMY!!!!!
