Hello fellow disney friends:

My family and i are finally going to Disney World again after so many years!! Last time we were there utilizing the Disney Dining plans was back in 2006!! Of course, Disney has scaled back a lot since then--we had appetizers included!! But anyway, not complaining since it "free" dining plan we are using. :goodvibes

Since i feel like a newbie all over again, i have a few questions here!!:confused3

--Are the menu choices for restaurant still unlimited? Can you get a high price Steak entree a lower price chicken entree? Do they still allow you to pick any entree on their menu?

--We will have some relatives joining us in the parks who are NOT staying in Disney but will have meals with us and they will pay out of pocket, obviously..but how we do make reservations for those who have dining and those who don't?

--One of my biggest disappointments is that i see they changed LeCellier, Canada to 2 credits!! :scared1: I love Cananda....but i hate to give up an extra dining credits for it....Is it really worth to go for 2 dining credits?? I always thought the Yachtmans Steak Resturant would be the place that would be "worth" to pay 2 credits for!!

Thanks for your tips and suggestions helping me out....I used to go Disney every year for 20 years and would considered myself a Disney Veteran, but i feel like a newbie again!!:rolleyes2

There are very few exceptions to what you can order. Someone else might have a list but the Kitchen Sink at B&C, alcohol except at dinner shows, drinks in souvenir cups are what I remember.

Make the reservation for the number of people you expect. You don't have to say who is on the DDP and who isn't until you are at the restaurant.

Is Le Cellier worth 2 credits? In terms of what a credit is worth in dollars, probably not a great use of credits, (Assuming that a TS credit is worth around $38) although it might be close if you get the most expensive entree which is rib eye at $64 and the most expensive dessert which is $10.

1. Here's a link to the DDP brochure that will help you with the current plan and all the changes since 2006:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/m...alog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2014Dining.pdf

2. You can order any entree on the menu. The desserts that I can think of that are excluded are the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream and the multi-person desserts at T-Rex and Rainforest. A rare poster has said they were able to combine adult credits for one of these desserts, but it is not usual. Any item on the menu "for 2" will require 2 adults to order it. The non-alcoholic beverage refers to fountain drinks such as soda, coffee, tea, iced tea or lemonade. Some Disney owned restaurants will let you choose a milkshake, smoothie, non-alcoholic cocktail, or specialty coffee, but it will vary so you will have to ask what is included at each restaurant.

3. Make the dining reservations for the maximum number of guests who will be at the table. Once you've been seated your server will ask about the dining plan and you can let the server know who is on the DDP and who will be paying OOP.

4. Worth is subjective, but as ses1230 said, a TS credit is worth about $38 so it can be difficult unless you order the most expensive entree. The rib eye is my favorite entree at Le Cellier. I order it with the risotto which I read is now a pea risotto instead of the yummy mushroom risotto. (Boo hoo)
