Menu changes coming to Harambe Market @ Animal Kingdom

It’s sad because I like trying different menu items, however having friends in the restaurant business, I get it. My friend said his patrons get upset if he removes their favorite dish from his menu, however he said if it doesn’t sell well, then he loses money and has to throw a lot of food away. And most restaurant owners operate on a very low profit margin as it is, so they need to make money on every dish and even more on drinks!
And Disney restaurants are not a big pot, they are all profit centers and menus change each year in order to reach maximum profit. I guarantee the burger/chicken spot is a huge profit maker, it's always PACKED. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out AFTER Tropical Americas opens.

Boy do I have high hopes that Tropical Americas embraces the Central and South American street food scene. Street foods are immensely popular throughout the lower Americas, and also super delicious - so aside from the restaurant offerings, I hope there are small food booths or spots that have all the good street foods: empanadas, tamales, arepas, pupusas, choripan, pastel de choclo, chivito, bunuelo, papas rellenas, anticuchos, coxinhas, street tacos, etc. The large restaurant could likely have lots of these types of foods, and could still incorporate kids-menu style stuff like chicken fingers and burgers - even maybe play around with some S. American spices or breads with the burgers and chicken for those less adventurous but willing to try a seasoned burger with a S. American cheese or bread or sauce to make it a little different (burger with a chorizo blend on a pan de queso bread with chimichurri, and grilled onions...or maybe a spicey-seasoned burger with sauteed green chiles and queso fresco on torta bread). Still burgers, but with some Tropical Americas theming and inspiration.

I'm still sad from when Tusker House changed from QS to TS and got rid of my FAVORITE salad with chicken.....even though Tusker House is a great character buffet :)

I hope they keep some sort of "interest" in the menus! I will still probably eat in Pandora though, breakfast of a Pongu Lumpia and then a bowl from Sautili for lunch :)

They've gotta have arepas because that was what the mother in Encanto was making to heal people. There's no doubt going to be a stand near the ride selling "Julieta's Magical Arepas" - at least I hope so!
