Menu changes coming to Harambe Market @ Animal Kingdom

Oh, gross :(. Harambe Market used to have my favorite CS meal in all of WDW back in 2016, the Grilled Vegetable Stack.

They got rid of that deliciousness in favor of a boring veggie burger, but they still have African themed foods. Now, burgers and nuggets. What a terrible change in 9 years.

If this really is a change of menu and not an additional option, that's going to be incredibly disappointing. They have some nice options currently at Harambe - no need to toss them for the usual American junk food options. Offer both menus........

Is this just to accommodate the closure of DinoNuggetLand and the kids bland pallet? I guess without Joe Rohde to push back on some of the Disney higher ups there is little to stop crazy ideas like this.

When Restaurantasaurus is basically the only place for folks to get the burger/chicken fare AND it is always packed AND it is going to close .... you HAVE to move it elsewhere. The Animal Kingdom Park is probably already running low on guests ~ they even moved the AP Magnet pickup back there to get the AP folks in there. We were at WDW a couple weeks ago and didn't even vist AK and we are AP (no "cost" to us).

Perhaps they will offer both and worded it poorly ... perhaps they are going to change some of the food kiosks or other windows over to those menu items ... perhaps their profits there were not what they wanted especially with lower attendance ... the park is going to go through growing pains ... and still offers good eats at other places. They can't win either way.

Note while we occasionally eat there because DS is focused on a burger .... we almost always eat at Satu'li Canteen. I think the park still offers a nice selection of food for a smaller park ~ better QS than most the other parks.

My feelings too! I enjoyed the unique offerings at Harambe. For me, it tied with Satu'li Canteen for where I ate lunch. It really came down to whether it was an indoor or outdoor lunch kinda day.

While I understand why they are doing this, burgers and chicken nuggets sell. It's still a sad change.
Disappointed to see another place that had some more unique options change. Wish they had just added that to the menu instead of a complete change. Just glad we were able to dine there before the change.

I still miss the original ribs. They were so good.

This was my first thought when I heard this news too. I also wonder if they think they can draw guests deeper into the park by placing the Americanized offerings placing farther from the gate.

Hopefully just a temporary change until they sort out the new additions.

Yeah I don't feel like theme wise it works for the long term .... but .... will Restaurantasaurus become food more tied to South America? so where will the burgers and chicken land ... or will it stay at the Market?

I think it depends on how profitable Harambe Market was and if some of their offerings could be added elsewhere? or do they build an additional QS location somewhere for burgers?

I'm going to hope that this is a temporary situation, and that when the former Dinoland reopens, there's a new burgers and chicken nuggets-style quick serve place to take the place of Restarauntasauras, and Harambe Market can revert to the food we love.
By the way, have they reported exactly when this change at Harambe Market is going to happen? Update: I see it'll almost certainly be after February 1st. Lucky for me! I have a trip planned the week beforehand, so I can eat my last Harambe Market meal-at least for a while.

Yeah, but shouldnt the new Tropical Americas land have food from that region, just like Harambe should have some African inspried dishes? I'd rather see the burgers and nuggets on Discovery Island somewhere. That said, I also don't have a problem with places having burgers and nuggets available in addition to some more unique offerings.

Yes but they will be closing Harambe Market down this "winter" to do a renovation to the kitchen. So possible by the holidays?

Completely agree and I'd be shocked if whatever Restaurantasaurus is going to be called will be burgers and chicken. I'm not even sure it will not get bulldozed or greatly renovated to be referred to biggest. Descriptions are the largest quick serve at WDW and referred to a Hacienda. Sounds like the land will be immersive so burgers aren't going to cut it.

I could see Discovery .... no reason either Flame Tree or Pizzafari couldn't add those items to their menus.
