Hi everyone ~ I noticed on the new menu for Carnation Cafe that they no longer offer the cinnamon roll french toast. That was a breakfast favorite and I was wondering if anyone knows why they took it off and if you think they might bring it back? They now offer "oatmeal cakes"?? What is that? :confused:Has anyone tried it and do you have a picture you can post of it? Another really yummy french toast was the creme brulee french toast that they used to serve at Goofy's kitchen. For some reason they took that off the menu there as well and not sure why. (That has been off the menu for a few years now) thought maybe they might bring it back, but since they haven't, I'm wondering if the cinnamon roll french toast will be gone for good too?:sad1:

I think these are being removed from the menus, due to the health kick that Disney is on these days. Yes, there are still unhealthy items on the menus, but Disney likes to keep the menus to a limited number of items to keep quality up. What this means is that some unhealthy choices have to be removed to add the healthy ones. And let's face it, French Toast is one of the unhealthiest breakfast foods served. (Along with Waffles, but imagine what would happen if there were no Mickey waffles).

they better not go completely health kick im sorry i like my fried foods
Do not change the golden horseshoe please or ill be so mad.

I think offering some good foods id nice but don't take away things just to make room for the health nuts please (and I hope that's not offensive to any one here if it is i'm sorry i just see it all the time)

I know! I will miss the cinnamon roll french toast too! Part of the fun of a Disneyland vacation is eating what you want! The healthy eating is out the window while at the happiest place on earth!! :goodvibes

I apppreciate your responses and I understand the healthy options and I'm all for healthy choices. However, I usually eat a healthy breakfast every day, (oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, smoothies, etc) but when I am on vacation and especially in Disneyland, I don't see any harm in enjoying a splurge one morning out of 5 on something that might not be that healthy. It was just a nice treat that I was looking forward to is all. It is a vacation and a time to enjoy things that we might not do on a normal basis. :cool1: I'm not saying to just eat junk the whole time, but I loved the cinnamon roll french toast and I am disapointed they took that off the menu.

I don't think Disney is that interested in serving healthy food. They just want food that they can serve quickly.

This is not actually very true. I inquired when they changed the recipe for the Tigger Tails. I was told that the Disney Nutrition Department was looking over many recipes to make them healthier options.

Changing the Tigger Tails from dipped in white chocolate to coated with colored sugar seemed like the nutrition department doesn't get it. Sure they reduced the fat in the recipe, but it's candy! And dipping the marshmellow treat in chocolate has to be less labor that applying colored sugar. If your buying a piece of candy you have already thrown caution to the wind. :confused3:tink:

I think I also noticed that the peanut butter & jelly palette is no longer on the menu. Did I see that right? That's a shame; my daughters really liked that.

If Disney was serious about the healthy kick they'd do something about the Monte Cristo sandwiches. And those pomme frites (garlic/parmesan fries.)

They'd best better leave Cafe Orleans alone or I'll really be upset!

I heard they'd taken that off the menu. I'm SO bummed about that. It was so unique and my boys LOVED it :worried:

THEY'D BETTER NOT!

We're both healthy eaters, but a few things are worth the fat and calories. The Monte Cristo is mine. (I go 3 cheese instead of traditional, but still!)

I have to admit, though, I am intrigued by the oatmeal cakes. Might have to try them.
