This might have already been posted. But in case you missed it.

We were just at O'Hana's for dinner on Saturday night. They no longer have turkey. It is now chicken. :sad2:

DH was extremely disappointed. He really liked the turkey better.

Also they have changed the pork marinade. It is really good. DH liked that.

The dessert is still amazing!!

The service was horrible. I'm not sure we will be going back. :sad1:

Thanks for the info!!!!! DH and I are are going to O'hana for the first time in October and I was a little concerned about the meat part because for the most part I prefer chicken, although I will have a little pork/beef so this makes me a little happier especially since I hate turkey!!

I am sorry you didn't have the best experience it is frustrating when these things happen, especially on vacation. I have to say we have modest expectations for O'hana but we want to try all new restaurants and this was DH's choice so we will see how it goes.

The shrimp was my favorite :cool1:. The chicken was a little dry for me, but it was still pretty good. I can't eat steaks, but everyone else in the party liked them. The wings were excellent1 We were there last week, also. We had wonderful service. It was truly our favorite meal of the week. What time is your reservation? We had ours at 9:10 and got to see the fireworks while we were in there. It was so nice to just lean back in the chair and enjoy them.

I dont mind the change but I always ask the server to make sure that our meats are not over cooked, this seems to be a trend at Ohanas. I love the food but cant stand dry chewy over cooked meat. It caused us not to go back for a little while but we decided to just start speaking with the server about it b/c we really do love the food and ambience. I do miss the maui potatos tho..lol

We are trying to decide between Ohana and Kona. We have gone to Kona the last two times and the steak was wonderful. We would really like to try Ohana again because it's more fun for the kids, but the dry meat is the concern. Has asking before hand made things better?

Last time we were at 'Ohana (in May) the service was horrible, and the shrimp was dry, as were some of the other meats :( I love this restaurant and hate to see it go downhill. I wonder what is going on with the service?

Chicken is ok w/ me. I've always had the problem of under cooked meats, like on the pork and turkey having red juices, that icks us out!! I dont want to worry about getting sick from undercooked meat. I'll trade you for well done!

It is a tough choice b/w Kona and Ohana. Kona has the best teryaki steak and macadamia nut butter and amazing bread. Ohana wins b/c you also get the yummy salad, amazing sticky wings w/o both people wanting to order them as an appetizer, and better atmosphere. Tough choice though. I try to go to both :)

We had great service in February. We had cousins come from all directions with meat, side refills and drinks. Our steak and shrimp were cooked to perfection but the turkey and pork were just a bit over cooked. But over all it was a fabulous meal and one of our favorites.

O'Hana is a must for us everytime we go to WDW. DH is a carnivore, so he's in heaven no matter what kind of meat is being served. I, personally, am glad to see shrimp is no longer one of the entree meats since I am allergic to shellfish (although Disney has always been great in making sure no cross contamination occurs). The last time we ate there in September, we had great service, but a few months before, we had possibly the worse service possible. I had to ask for bread, and we NEVER received any sauces to accompany the meats. I suppose it just depends on whose section you are seated in.

We had shrimp in late February...lots and lots of shrimp.

Shrimp was there on Saturday. It was the turkey that was gone and replaced with the chicken. I actually liked the shrimp. I also really liked the pork dumplings. I forgot to add that in my initial post.

They do currently serve shrimp on skewers.

While I agree that 'Ohana has gone downhill in food and service, our last visit there was better and the meat wasn't dry. I just hate how rushed I feel there! Like they're just throwing food at you.. not fun.

We ate at 'Ohana last Friday, and it was a highlight of our trip. Yes, there was shrimp on skewers (unlike the peel-and-eat shrimp we expected) and chicken instead of turkey. But we really enjoyed the food (potstickers...yum!) even though we'd been worried about the Maui potatoes being gone (we hadn't been there since 2007). I loved the noodles and steak, as well. The chicken wasn't overdone for us, but I personally wasn't as big on the pork. Isn't it funny how everyone sees things differently? Our service was fine - not outstanding, but definitely enough. Our only beef was that we were sat in the very first room you come into, across from the kitchen - not the main room. We felt a little "out of the loop." However, the entertainment lady (no one in my party can remember her name!!) came over and dragged my DH and his brother to be the limbo pole holders - grass skirts and all! We got it on video, and it was too funny!

We just got back from our family vacation and we ate at Ohana twice. The first night everything was perfect. The food was wonderful, the shrimp seemed to have a new marinade, the meats weren't at all dry. The new chicken was delicious and the service was perfect. The second time we ate there the food was just as good but the service was not. We were at a table table behind the grill and it was a Saturday night. They may have been extra busy, because they seemed to have forgotten about us. No rushing us out because they seemed to forget we were there! We will be going again in the fall and still eating at Ohana, but we'll also try Kona this time.

I happy to hear they didn't change the desert. We really enjoy Ohana's and will try to get ADR for our xmas holidays. Last year we had poor serious. The server seemed to forget about us. I had to ask for shrimp, the noodles were cold and when she brought the steak over there was only 2 pieces left. I couldn't believe it. If it had not been the holidays, I would have brought to the managers attention. I gave her a pass. As I said I will go back again

I'm glad to hear the turkey is gone. It was the one meat no one at our table would eat. It always seemed too dry. Maybe the chicken will be better. This is a must-do every trip for us.

A must do for us also, evry trip...twice on last trip. The dessert still rocks!

the desert is so yummy, but that doesn't help me decide between Ohana and Kona because the last two times we ate at Kona they were able to bring me the desert from Ohana. So the yummy steak from Kona and the Ohana desert!
