mental health day.

My mom doesn't let me have one of those.
I wish she did, but even if I did have one, I'd have a lot of homework to catch up on. I probably couldn't afford to miss it.

I'd probably end up spending mine doing chores and being a busy-body.

Completely defeting the purpose lol.

I hope you get your mental health day soon!!

my mom was the one suggesting it.
i've been going to college and highschool lately, and i'm just exhausted. i get up early and go to school an hour before anyone's there, to take a us history 101, then i do all of highschool, then i come home, do hours of homework, and then i do english 101.
its exhausting.

I've asked my mom a couple times, and she knows I'll get my work made up.
She just refuses to let me take a day off unless I'm sick. She doesn't think there is any reason for it. Even though she knows I have a lot of clubs I have things to do in and some of my classes are pretty hard.

When I ask she just tells me that she never got one, which I don't understand why that matters, or she'll just say because and that's the end of the conversation. :headache:

Today's a random half day.
It makes me so pleased.
See you all in half a day.

Yeah I could totally use a mental health WEEK!
I get up @ 5am everyday, go to school, usually go to work (for the past month I've been getting 5 shifts a week!!! HELLO IM IN UNIVERISTY!!! IM KINDA BUSY!!!!) SO I usually don't get home til about 11-11:30ish, then I get roughly 5.5 hrs of sleep, then I get up and do it all over again, trying to squeeze in time for my VERY important readings/hmwk.
All while trying to maintain a relationship and something of a social life.

It's not working out too well for my ATM. :headache:

ETA: And I don't get a day off until mid-october for thanksgiving....but then again, i'll probably be working that day anyway.

I'm there too! College is whipping my butt. I'm exhausted. I want a mental health day too.

I take mental health days. The way I see it, school is our "job" and our "pay" is knowledge. If adults can take personal days at work, I can take one at school.
I only go to school Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for now. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my rest days, my "mental health" days. When I get better, I'll only take one when I need it.

Kayla - Sorry, but that "If I didn't have it, you don't need it" attitude some parents have really chaps my hiney. Isn't a point of being a great parent being able to give your child what you didn't have? Ugh.
Shelby - Take the day if you need it. You have the rest of your life to go to college, your health is more important.

I don't need one yet. Usually if I want a day off, and I happen to feel tired and run down I use my stomach ache excuse. Like 90% of school days I wake up with one. I usually try to stomach it, but if Im' tired, I can't even bother.

I ahve to actually be some form of ill to stay home.

I'll probably need one when we actually start doing work. I don't have it rough like you do Shelby, but I am finding I have no time to sleep anymore.
I get around 2 school nights off and then Saturday off. I'd prefer to work all day Saturday and get my sleep on Sunday before school goes back in.

If I have homework on a night I work, I'm doing it at like 10.30 and it's not working out well.

I took a lot since 6th grade. But luckily this year, I haven't needed one yet. I haven't missed a day of school, despite how much I would like to. I have left early from my last period because I wouldnt of had a ride home.

I'm saving my days for when I'm sick or just have an emotional breakdown.

if i fail this class, i don't graduate HIGH SCHOOL. i'm getting hs and college credit for both of them, and both are required classes.

If I take a mental health day, i'd freak out at the end of the year.
We have 'vouchers'. And you get out of a certain amount of finals if you meet a certain criteria. One of the criteria is attendance.

i think that stuff is total bs personally.
people shouldn't be exempt from finals. my school offers it, but only the fluff slacker teachers do it.

I wish I could take a mental health day! Mind you, I'd miss about 2 or 3 lessons worth per subject if I missed a day. Most people in my school have suffered an in-school breakdown at least once during their high school education.

At least the teachers are sympathetic about it.

Exemptions were removed here.
In some cases yeah, it's good because we'll learn how to really prepare for an exam...

But for certain classes, it's just a pain in the bum.
But I wish midterms could be like finals, like the week off except for the exams.
