Men are odd (betting.)

If you are going to bet, you might lose. I think most women would understand this. That is why we don't bet on which purse might sell more copies or whether non-mom jeans will be replaced by skinny jeans.

My husband was yelling and screaming. Then my son comes in and starts yelling, "In your face! In your face!" Mind you, this appears to be all in good fun...although DH is honestly surprised and upset.

So, I finally ask what it is all about. "Blah, blah, over, blah, blah, 30, blah, blah, blah."

I say, "Honestly, you're going to give yourself a heart attack. If you're don't want to lose, don't bet!" Then DS starts with the, "In your face!" again and DH starts yelling again. They forget about me and it's back to DISing for me.

They make no sense.

I don't expect replies, just throwing it out there. Can't explain it to them, because they are crazy.

DH: No, that is someone else, I'm talking about Shelley Long
Me: Shelley Long played Diane in Cheers
DH: No, Shelley Long was in the original PO. I am sure of it.
Me: Seriously, I know this one, Shelley Winters was nominated for an Academy Award for PO
Dh: Bet me
Me: Whatever, not a big deal.
DH: Seriously, how much do you want to bet?
Me: Do you realize you started this conversation completely unsure of her last name and now you want to bet?
DH: HA! You know you are wrong, that's why you won't bet me.
Me: I know I am right and you are wrong. You always do this and you are usually wrong. And it really doesn't matter...what is the point?
DH: 50 bucks it was Shelley Long.
Me: Oh, come on that is dumb, it was Shelley Winters...get over yourself.
DH: Come on, bet me. I know I am right cause I remember seeing her on something talking about it
Me: Oh, you saw her on something...that is your basis for being right? God, this is so stupid. Ok, I'll bet you fifty dollars the chick from PO was Shelley Winters

Later, after proving him wrong...he actually says: "Yea, but what name was she BORN with?"

Ive had this converstation about a billion times with ___________(insert male name). Just different movie or tv show and a different actor or actress. But always the same converstation.

Its even worst when I bet something about sports. Men like to think they have that market cornered. I know my stuff, so if I bet, I am sure I am right. So just because you have a Y, that doesn't mean you are the know all on sports. Dont bet if you are worried you will lose.

Somewhere along the lines of evolution, I'm sure a man hit his head hard enough to be passed on to all the other men after him. It has to be.
