and I married their king." I saw this on a bumper sticker today. So I'm thinking, well honey, if you're stupid enough to marry the king of idiots, I guess you're stupid enough to tell the world you did so. Why would anyone put this on their car? Perhaps her husband (or ex) has one that says "Women are idiots and I married their queen?" :confused3 I bet you couldn't even buy one that said that. So, do you think it's funny, or not?

I gave it a slight snicker with a  . I agree with the OP -- if you married the "king", it's not something to brag about.

Edited to add: This reminds me of the "I'm with Stupid" t-shirts. Why anyone would want to advertise or brag about that is beyond me. Doesn't that speak directly to the intelligence of the person wearing the t-shirt?

I hope they don't have kids -- can you imagine how it would make them feel?

I don't find it particularly funny.

I totally agree.

I think it's funny - but I wouldn't have it on my car.

I know a woman (slightly) who has this bumper sticker on the back of her big SUV - "You call me a #itch like that's a bad thing!" So charming to see her car parked in front of church or in carpool line. A friend of mine complained about it and the school basically said they couldn't do anything about a personal vehicle. My friend made a point of holding up the carpool line, and when they told her to move forward, she said, "I won't have my children within reading distance of her bumper - if you won't take a stand against that in a school setting, you'll have to deal with parents who WILL take a stand." They never gave her any grief about it again!!!

I like funny bumper stickers, but usually I prefer them on an email list. Too many chances for people to react to it.

Geez...lighten up. It's funny. Maybe the lady is divorced. Or maybe she's just one of those husband bashers. Either way the bumper sticker is just that....a bumper sticker and it is kind of funny. At least she can poke fun at her situation, if she did indeed marry the King of the idiots (although I thought MY ex was.)

As an aside, my Dh and I did buy pins at WDW for each other. Mine was of Grumpy and had writing on it proclaiming "I'm with DOPEY!" and he had one of Dopey proclaiming "I'm with GRUMPY!" Hilarious!

omg...I find this sad...I mean...it's a BUMPER STICKER...what if it was on a strangers car and you were stuck in a drive thru staring at it for a few minutes?

sheesh...

what about the "My kid beat up your honor roll kid" stickers?

they are just little quips in life...I really don't see a fuss over them. People should be free to express themselves as they wish on their cars.

and I'd like to say, to whoever stole my "mean people suck" bumper sticker off my car when I was 17...YOU STILL SUCK. :)

I have days when I'm thinking the same thing that that bumber sticker says, but I wouldn't put it on my vehicle. I'm not into general men bashing and it's insulting. If I saw it on a car I might snicker, but I really can't imagine putting it on my car.

I call my DH my computer idiot savant. He can do anything on a computer. His co-workers tell me he is a genius. Some of the things he does the rest of the times would make you go hmmmm. He is like the absent minded professor. I think the bumper sticker is funny. My DH would too.

It's a joke. Some are going to find it funny, some won't. That's just the nature of a joke. :confused3

I find the whole "men are idiots" thing very tiresome.

Disclaimer - I am even stating this on a morning where I went off to work very POed at my DH (minus the "D") and firmly believing that he was an idiot.

I still think it's tiresome. I don't want to get you boys here in an uproar, but why DON'T guys get sick of being portrayed like idiots all the time? Have women turned the tables that far that we have to be making fun of guys to make ourselves look better? Watch out for this on TV - especially commercials. There's always the bumbling clueless dad trying to do the laundry, messing it up, and the nodding, know-it-all mom. Can you imagine THAT being turned around? Picture this: mom trying to check the oil in the van - screwing it up - dad saying "step aside honey" while nodding smugly at the camera.

Whatever issues I have with my DH, sons, dad, whatever...saying "all men are idiots" is sexism at its peak.

The "D" in DH has not exactly been standing for "dear" lately in my house. :rotfl:

Most of us are sick of it, but are just used to going  and moving on.

Thank you! I AM getting sick of it. The women's movement would be complaining of sexism if what you proposed for a commerical was shown.

Not really... maybe because we are idiots after all. (Just joking) I know it's just a sad stereotype like so many others used in advertising. I usually snicker briefly, roll my eyes and move on. It's water off a duck's back.

I find it nothing more than a bumper sticker like any other bumper sticker. As far as all men are idiots - we all have our moments!

The bumper sticker was funny for 2 seconds, and then it got old, for the reason stated above. Not a big deal, but wouldn't have it on my car.

Everyone has a different sense of humor. Her husband may think it is funny. I bought my husband a t-shirt that says "Comfortably Dumb" because my husband ASKED for it. He thinks it is funny. He is just secure enough in himself that he is not worried if people really think he is dumb. :confused3

Probably not an exact quote but:

"Who is more foolish...the fool or the fools who follow him." Obi-Wan

I think the bumper sticker bashes the woman more than the man. Having said that the men are idiots thing hopefully is getting played out in the media and will soon die away. I did however try and limit my girls contact with my wife's family sometimes because when they get together it is a husband bash fest and I did not want to have my daughters hearing that a great deal. Now we live cross country so no worries.
