Hi!
I just started thinking about booking a memory wedding in January. We originally planned in going to Jamaica, but after learning about the memory package I think were golf to Disney instead!!!
We plan staying in a 1bd villa at the wilderness but I have a few concerns,

1st -what do I do with the groom the morning of the wedding while in getting ready?
2nd- how do we get do the poly luau beach separately?

My DH hung out by the pool while I was having hair and make-up done then he came back to get dressed. Since it was a vow renewal, we weren't concerned with not seeing each other. If you don't want to see each other, could he get ready in the room of someone else coming with you?

If you get the included limo, I believe it will make multiple trips within your 3 hour alottment - so the limo could pick up your fiance, bring him over to the Poly then come back for you.

Good luck with your plans!

Well you have the option of a limo or an in-room celebration. You would each arrive separately in a limo if you wish.

We're doing photos around the GF before the wedding, and will probably be getting ready together. I had thought of getting him a room at a value, or renting points for a studio for him--but whatever--it's a small, quick, ceremony and since we're going alone, we will need each other's help getting ready anyway. We talked about it--and are fine.

You could always send him to have breakfast before final touches, leave in the limo, he could go up and get ready and meet you there?? Maybe??

It's just the two of us going, so I have no idea who's going to help me with my dress? Does the wedding coordinator help with that?

You won't see your coordinator until you get to your ceremony site. But if you hire a make-up artist to come to your room I'm pretty certain they would help you with that!

I'm pretty much positive that they don't. I purposely got a zip up back so that I could do it--or DF could do it easily. You'll probably be in the same boat we are--and will probably have to help each other. It'll be fun!

Are you getting an outside photographer??

I'm leaning towards Randy Chapman for the pictures! His pictures look amazing :)
I really don't want my fiancé seeing me before the wedding so hopefully the girl that I hire to do my hair and makeup will help me. My dress has a corset back so there's no way I can do that by myself

I sure hope the makeup girl helps me!!!
What does the wedding coordinator do if I don't see her until the ceremony???

I'm wondering this too.

Also, would it seem funny to walk into V&As in a simple wedding gown for a post ceremony dinner?

When we had ours, she called us the morning of the Vow Renewal to introduce herself and confirm that everything was set (it was a different person than who we had been working with leading up to the day - they let you know that up front that it could be a different coordinator). Then she met us in the lobby of the GF about 15 minutes before the ceremony, led us out to the site, made sure everything was set with the floral, music, photographer (we used DPS). AFAIK, even with an Escape or Wishes, the wedding coordinator meets you at the site they don't come to your room to help with prep or anything - at least that's my impression from reading other people's TRs. Good luck!:goodvibes

I got an email a week before my wedding informing me the name of my coordinator and that she will be calling me the day before to answer any questions that I may have. I told her then that I would like to make sure that I don't see my then fiance before the ceremony. So, she told me that he should arrive 15 minutes before me and she would take care of the rest! My coordinator did a wonderful job! She made sure the flowers, photographer, and officiant were there and ready to go. Then right before the ceremony, she takes you on a golf cart from the lobby to the beach area where your fiance will be waiting!

I chose the in room celebration, so we ended up renting a car to get to luau beach. I think that is the best way to get there with a wedding dress on.

The memories wedding turned out to be wonderful and I think you will be happy with the choice too!

Congrats !!!!

Here's how our day went - (it was just the two of us)
1. He got dressed first and then left the room and hung out in the lobby of the GF - got a snack etc - while hair & makeup were being done for me....and YES - she did help me with the dress - she was very sweet and did a great job (I used Janet M. of On Site Beauty).. :cool2:

2. We didn't want to see each other (even though ours was a VR) and so the limo picked him up first and then came back for me... and there was still plenty of "limo time" after the ceremony itself so the limo took us back together to the GF. :thumbsup2

3. Agree with PP - the coordinator did contact us the day before to let us know the final details and then met us at the site (Luau Beach) - with the flowers - got everybody set and ready to go!!!!

4. We went to Victoria & Albert's for our after ceremony celebration in our wedding clothes - and it was magical....:wizard: I think they see this very frequently and we certainly didn't feel out of place - it was perfect... In fact, the pic of us was taken inside V&A's by one of the cast members.

Have fun with the rest of your planning - and don't worry - DFTW staff is wonderful and how could you go wrong with WDW!!!!

Sweet Monarabbit - Glad to see you back!!! Are we going to see any more photos of your beautiful day????:thumbsup2

Does anyone know if it is possible to pay to upgrade the site of the Memories package to Sea Breeze point?

Is it possible to upgrade to the Cinderella collection with the Memories package? If so, does anyone know the price of the particular package that contains the high resolution cd and what else the package includes.

Thanks!

I'm pretty certain that the only upgrades they allow are photography (extra photo sessions, print packages, etc.) and floral. At least that's how it was when we had ours - you couldn't upgrade the location, add a cake to the ceremony (although you can do this on your own at a restaurant, which is what we did), the carriage, things like that. Although I did recently read about a bride who is having her Memories at Coronado Springs so it would definitely be worth asking about location options:thumbsup2.

Back when we had our event they wouldn't even let us buy the CD :sad2:, but I've seen now you can add the CD for $500. They had some print package and album options in the planning kit - I'm not sure if any of them were the exact Cinderella package configuration but there are options.

Good luck, hope that helps!:goodvibes
