memory maker

We don't get memory maker...instead of paying that much, I take the photos that the photo pass people take and make them into a customized calendar (which you can do through the photo pass website). The calendar can be 2-3 pictures for each month and costs about $25...so you end up with about 25-30 pictures from your trip for way less than the cost of buying one at $14...the calendars are just as easy to save as photos in an album.

Yes, everyone will be able to use it, get pictures even when separated, and see the pictures on their own MDE, BUT as @siskaren said, only the oner person who purchased it can actually do the edits and download (i just got together with them after our trip and let them edit, then made CDs for each family)

Split 5 ways, it'll be the best $30 you can spend at WDW!

Everyone is local except a sister in Alaska. Can I give her my log in info and let her select/edit her own? Can she pay with her own credit card and ship to her own address?

Everyone else can just get together after the trip to select/edit. I'm thinking my parents won't edit much, but just choose prints.

We don't print a ton of photos anymore. Is there an option to buy them all digitally?

Thank you for the help!!

Yes, you can give your log in to the others and then they'll be able to edit and save to their heart's content. I'm not sure about choosing scrapbooks and other print items and paying with a different credit card from what you attach to your MDE, but I'd be 99% sure she could do it.

Actually, MM is a digital download, not printed pictures. You will get the digital files of all your photos. I like to download one original set before doing any edits, so that I'll always have that clean copy in case I want it. Then add borders, stickers, character signatures, etc and download those new versions. Once you have your downloads, you can store them in the cloud (maybe a storage service like Dropbox), store on your computer or thumb drive, upload to a photo site like Snapfish of Shutterfly for scrap booking or printing or anything else you do with your personal digital photos.

My reading comprehension is slow today. . . Did you mean that you use the Photopass photos and make a calendar, or that you take your own pictutres in the same places where photographers would take photos and then upload yours to the MM site to make a calendar?

I think I recall from my last trip that although I did have MM, there was a way I could upload my own pictures so that I could mix personal shots with Photopass shots to put them together into a scrapbook (or, I assume calendar and other products). But I was running up against my expiration date and it wasn't working for me, so I just downloaded my digital files. Wondering whether you really can upload personal photos to incorporate with Disney products or if I misunderstood . . .

I used a mix of photo pass pictures and my own personal ones...you can both use the pictures the photo pass photographers have taken place on their cameras (i.e. the ones that go into MDE) and upload your own (i.e. From my iPhone). You can also use ride photos!

We love MM. But it's just the two of us so our vacation isn't as expensive as a whole family travelling. We think it is 100% worth it for us. I absolutely love the magic shots, ride photos and videos. They are priceless keepsakes.
I've made beautiful canvas prints and collages with them. I just love how they are yours forever.

Do you have to stop and ask them to take your photos?

Also, for rides, jedi training, etc, how the photos get linked? Is there something specific we have to do to make sure we get our photos?

Yes, you have to stop and take pictures. They won't know you want a photo otherwise :) The Photo Pass Photogs are clearly identifiable, though. They all wear the same khaki vest and carry around a big camera regardless of park or land (there may be some variations that I just don't know about, but they pretty much wear the exact same uniform anywhere you are).

Have your Magic Band ready, because that's how they get linked. If you don't have your MB, you can always get a card from the photographer that has a code. You enter that code online to access your photos. It may take a day or two for them to show up. You can also download the photos of people linked to your MDE account through the Friends and Family.

Disney has a great FAQ on MM. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/help/memory-maker/

1) yep. Anywhere you see a photographer and want a shot, just stroll up and they'll take your picture. They will scan your magic band or plastic ticket to link the picture to your MDE account
2) At rides, your photos should automatically be linked to your account if you were wearing your MB on the ride. If you want to be double sure, you can scan your band at the photo viewing area at the end of the ride (note that if you do this and your MB did already work, you will end up with duplicates in your account)
3) at Jedi Training, the photographer will give you a card with a code on it that needs to be entered into your account to connect all your photos. I HIGHLY recommend taking that card to a photopass store (near the entrance of each park and also at Disney Springs) to let them enter the card and connect your photos. Events like Jedi and Enchanted Tales take LOTS of pictures of not just your child, but every participant. If you enter the code from the card, you get all the shots. If you go to a shop, they can quickly help you select only those shots of your family. This is helpful because the site is slow to load and scroll through and eliminated hundreds of pictures you don't need helps to speed it up.

Where is it that videos are taken?

7 dwarfs and Tower of Terror have short videos that consist of a brief intro clip, then a clip of your actual car on the ride, then a stock closing clip. They're really fun to look at.

I understand there are/were plans to add HM as a video, too. Has that happened? Any word? Is it canceled or still in plans? Info said it would be late spring but haven't heard a peep.

I've been hearing "coming soon" about a HM video for a long time too. I haven't heard anything specific recently & have no inside track on info. Would be really cool if they get it added!

I get the sense it won't be announced ahead of time, we'll just wake up one day and it'll be on the DPB.

thanks everyone. sounds like more people than not have good experiences with it. it's a keeper for us
