I need some clarification about Memory Maker. We are going to WDW in January with my DH's family. There are 13 of us, adults and children, and we are staying onsite. We were thinking of buying Memory Maker as a Christmas gift for DH's parents.

If we are all linked as family and friends on MDE, can we all have pictures taken using our own magic bands and have them linked to the Memory Maker account? Or can only the magic band linked to that account work? Based on what I have read about it on the Disney website, it seems like we could all link our photos, but I want to make sure. Our group will all be together some of the time, but a lot of times we will be split up into individual families as well and we would want to have all the photos that are taken, even when we're split up. If we all have to be together as a big group in to use the Memory Maker, it probably wouldn't be worth it.

From what I understand, for ride pictures could only be picked up by the person/account Memory Maker is assigned to and no one else. Is that correct? And I don't think we'll be eating at any TS restaurants that have dining photos, so those aren't a concern for us.

Forgive me if these questions have already been answered elsewhere, and thanks in advance for any help!

Anyone can pick up any photos including ride photos. Only the memory maker can actually DOWNLOAD photos.

If anyone has their own account that you don't manage they will have to friend you in MDX to see their photos. This involves inviting each other and both must accept the invites. Then their photos will show up in your account and vice versa.

The rule is if it's in your account the memory maker can download it as long as it's within the window.

How long does the memory maker last? I see that the pictures expire after 45 days. I am wondering if you have an annual pass or non-expire tickets can you use it more than one trip in a year or if it has to be done in a 45 day window from the first use? Anyone know?

thanks!

When you download your first photo, the photos active in your account become downloadable. Then for the next 30 days any additional photos taken become downloadable.

Of course, you'll still need to download the first set while active.

See on their FB page ( it wouldn't let me copy the response. It says ONLY the money maker can add ride photos to their band. The below is from their we page....

"Q. How do I link an attraction photo to my Disney account so that I am able to download it with my Memory Maker purchase? A. Immediately after you have experienced a participating attraction, please visit the attraction’s Sales Center and link the photo to your Disney account. You can link the photo using any MagicBand or card linked to your account—including Memory Maker cards and Disney PhotoPass Cards. Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account. "

The second paragraph implies only the MM can add them. I would love to hear that I am wrong however.

I called last night to 'upgrade' my photopass archive disk to memory maker (aka refund then a new purchase, apparently it's a first!) and asked about the ride thing.

They said that when someone adds a ride photo, they should say they have Memory Maker and to have them put it on their magic band. Then those photos should be available to the holder of the Memory Maker (we'll say it's you for ease). Before you do anything like that though make sure you're connected as friends or family through mydisneyexperience and then also make sure that you have access to everyone's photopass photos. Everyone with an account will have to press "edit" next to your name and check that box. Any photos taken/added to their accounts before that happens will not be accessible, so do it beforehand!

She also said there may be some technical issues, but if that's the case have the people write down the attraction photo number and you can go back and get it on your account. Essentially your connected friends/family won't be able to download their pictures with Memory Maker, but you will be. Since that box would already be checked, you should be able to see the picture.

Obviously it's new so the lady I spoke to might have given me incorrect information, but she had lots of information on that front, so it seemed to be correct. Which is good because traveling with 19 family members and trying to juggle all those attraction/photopass pictures would be difficult! I'll find out soon though, and could report back after our first park day on the 26 or 27th.

How did you upgrade? I haven't been able to speak to anyone who has any idea what's going on. I was passed around to 5 different people, all clueless. I was so frustrated that I hung up while on hold for the 6th person, who was in Internet tech support or something. Not sure how that would have helped...

Finally got someone knowledgeable. For anyone else who is wondering, you need to return your PhotoPass+ vouchers and gallery disc that you got in the mail and they will refund you. Then you can order Memory Maker. What really got me interested in MM is that you don't need to go to the PP booth your first day in the parks to pick up a card. That's such a waste of valuable morning touring time!

You are, luckily :).

The question is worded kind of vaguely. It should say that only the memory maker can download the attraction photos. If a magic band is linked to your account, you or anyone in your traveling party can obtain the ride photos.

Glad you got it sorted out! Essentially they just refunded me and I went off and bought Memory Maker afterwards. Now I'm dealing with the order not appearing in my account (but I have a pending cc request). Hopefully the email help will get back to me before tomorrow so I don't need to call again.

Luckily I saved the confirmation page so I have that to fall back on for reference. Print to Google Drive is wonderful!

The confirmation page should have a 12 digit code on it that is your memory maker id. Have you claimed that yet?

Memory maker won't show up in your PhotoPass account since it's a my Disney experience product not a PhotoPass product.

I do have a confirmation number from when I hopefully completed the order, but it's not showing up in my orders and the charge is still pending. I also never got an email, which was worrisome. Figured I'd better be safe then sorry and discover that it didn't fully complete the order when I go to retrieve it.

I purchased Photopass (not +) back in October for our upcoming January trip. When Memory Maker came out, we decided we'd like to change to that. Between hubby and I, we spent almost 2 hours on the phone, mostly on hold, over the last couple days. They are "supposed" to be refunding my $119 and I am to go back online and purchase Memory maker. The CM I got yesterday did not even know the difference between Photopass and Photopass+

Between hubby and I, we spent almost 2 hours on the phone, mostly on hold, over the last couple days. They are "supposed" to be refunding my $119 and I am to go back online and purchase Memory maker. The CM I got yesterday did not even know the difference between Photopass and Photopass+dde33. I had to explain it to him. Anyway, I don't like the idea of paying the $150 for Memory Maker before I see my $119 refund. I was told it would take 1-2 billing cycles (which is a pretty standard thing for companies to say, so I understand that) to see the credit on my debit card, so I pretty much have to go ahead and pay for MM before I see my refund. Does anyone else think it's kinda crazy that you do not even receive an email notice that they have credited you back, even knowing it may take awhile to show up in the bank acct? It doesn't seem too difficult to send a confirmation...

I had to mail back my PhotoPass+ stuff and the CM told me it should only be 7 business days until I see my refund. We'll see if that happens. With the holidays, I'm not planning on seeing the refund before the new year. I just used a credit card for mine, so technically I could buy Memory Maker whenever, but I just feel uneasy about doing it before the refund goes through.

I sorted my issue out I tried adding the confirmation # I had saved within mydisneyexperience.com and it was successful. I'll worry about the CC sitting as pending later, perhaps when I arrive if I have trouble.

So if you don't see Memory Maker in your account just add it like a reservation. It is a slightly different area the actual URL is https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/mymedia/ if it helps.

The lady I spoke to that issued my refund said it could be a couple months before the refund is seen on the card (depending on billing cycles), but I do see my photopass CD listed as refunded on the photopass site. If you look at order history and then click the order, it'll list it there. I do agree that an email would have been handy though.

Wow. I just went to check my Photopass account and my $119 credit is STILL there. This is after having a CM tell me Friday morning he would take care of it that day and I would see the credit in my bank account in a couple days. Then, after a 40 minute phone call yesterday, I was told it would be done this morning (and then the bit about how it would take several billing cycles before us see the credit in my account). Oh...and he also took my phone # and was going to call me to let me know they had applied the credit. I really don't feel like having to place yet another call!

:sad2:What is the difference between photo pass + and Memory Maker? I already have my photo pass stuff for our trip in February.....

Has anyone had problems downloading their pictures from memory maker? I have a friend who just returned from her trip yesterday and can't get her pictures downloaded. She is pretty computer savvy, so I don't think it's operated error:) Any thoughts?
