yes and no ?

Yes if you are a larger group, just makes group photos so much easier, and allows, if you are breaking off into smaller groups, you to get photos from things you aren't there to see.

I would have just said NO a couple years ago, but with the new things they have added, on ride photos/movies ... its pretty cool now.

That being said, if it was just 2 of us going again, I might not do it. You can always give a Memorymaker photographer your camera or phone and ask them to use that and take your picture ... So I am a little torn on it, but for our trips with larger groups (multiple families/friends going) I am pretty on board with it. 70% yes, 30% no.

i loved it and wouldn't do it again with ordering memory maker. for all the reasons listed above, better lighting, everyone in the shot, ride photos...

If I decide to not buy the memory maker, but do have pictures taken, and purchase to download one or two, doI still have my magic band scanned?

I'm on the fence about purchasing memory maker.
I never really thought about home many times I actually use the photographers while in the parks.
We are visiting MK, MNSSHP, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and a water park.
I'm not sure what rides have pictures taken and how I can best use memory maker at MNSSHP.

If I can make good use of it, I can purchase.
What do you think? Did memory maker work for you? :listen:

There is a voting poll up above and I would also like to hear your experience.
I am glad we got it. It's not too hard to just hand your camera to someone else and ask to take your picture, many people do it but I liked the 'package' that this one is. Nothing out of focus or photobombers or anything. I don't know if I'd do it again but when you're either a party of two or going solo, it's worth it.

I always say it's worth it if you are staying five days or longer! AND, take all the pictures you can since you get them all in the end!

It's worth it to me for the ride photos and the little ride videos, I didn't know those were a thing and it was a nice surprise. Since this last trip was the first one where everyone was over 48" it was fun seeing all the in-ride photos. I have never been shy about asking a CM to take our picture with our camera, so I don't need it for group shots. I actually felt like quite a few of the shots were blurry and out of focus this last time, which never happened to us before.

When you ride how are the pictures sent to your memory maker? Do you have to scan your magic band somewhere??

We have gotten it every time. Our engagement trip was the first sense it was an online only deal. We went during flower and garden and on our epcot days they included all sorts of pics of the topiary in other parks there were character pics. Other then the pics that were bonus we had over 500 pics of us taken in 8 days

Just out of curiosity, at Christmas are there photographers at the deluxe resorts with the decorations? Like GF, WL? What about anywhere at disney springs?

As a professional photographer, I always get Photopass/Memory Maker for our trips. I have hundreds of pictures (both mine and the Disney Photographer's) that I can add backgrounds to, make Christmas Cards out of, etc. All for $169? I wouldn't license 10 of my pictures for that...with unlimited printing/manipulation ability? It's a bargain.

I've had very good results with Disney's night shots and of course the "magic" shots. My camera isn't the best for night photos and of course I can't do the magic shots! I have really liked pretty much every photo I've ever had taken by Disney photographers. I usually download them and get a photo book made with all the photos that were taken. Is it worth the cost? That is up to each individual and their budgets. I can't imagine paying more than the current price though!

We will be getting MM for our Oct 2016 trip. This will be two families going for their first time with 5 kids so it is a MUST for us.

It was for me. I'm the one who always takes the pictures, so it was nice to have us all together. I don't have a real camera and I don't take very good pictures anyway.

We got so many shots of my kids with the characters that I would have not been able to get, but even if I could I was happy I could just relax and enjoy the moment instead of stressing over whether I got the shot.

I am taking a group of 37 people, staying in 14 rooms. Can I add all of them as friends, and get all of their photos? Even their ride photos if I am not with them? The Disney site says that the 'owner' of the MM must scan their band within 24 hours to capture ride photos of their group. Is this true? It just sounds too good to be true!

We got it for the first time this trip. I knew a few restaurants where we had reservations had photographers and we were a group of 9 so it came out to $50/family. In the end it was great: we ended up with close to 1000 shots!

An added bonus is that many times a photographer would ask if we had Memory Maker and then would do a little photo shoot with one of our kids. Just if they were going off duty soon or didn't have a line waiting. We got a lot of really cute close up shots that way!

And the ride photos were an unexpected treat. I've never bought one before but we ended up with an amazing photo of my son, hubby and mom on 7DMT which I'm using prominently in our trip photo book!

By the last day I didn't even get out our personal camera once!
