Memory Maker VS Photo Pass+

a fp cm said the magic bracelet things have a number on the back, and you can just enter that number on the photopass site and use it like a photopass card. But remember that the Disneyland and Aulani site uses the regular web page and Walt Disney World doesn't use it anymore.

Still confused if we are staying offsite how MM works.... Sent from my Samsung S3 using DISBoards

PhotoPass+ worked just fine for people staying off site, memory maker works basically the same?

You would just use a PhotoPass card instead of a MagicBand.

I head to WDW next month and have only recently been catching up with Disney's latest changes before my trip. I preordered the original Photopass CD (not Photopass +) and I haven't read anywhere how that impacts Memory Maker. Should I get MM or what? This is so confusing and this change seems to have come out of nowhere.

I would keep it. mM seems the same as PP+ except with MM you don't get the CD with stock photos and you only get digital downloads instead of pics on a CD. It seems like you get more with PP+ for the same $

Just an FYI from my personal experience...
I ordered Memory Maker online last week for my January 3 trip. The website was glitchy, so I had to call technical support to get MM linked to my MDE account. No big deal, it works now. Then yesterday, I received a Memory Maker card in the mail (not a PP+ card--Memory Maker). Basically it will serve as backup if our MagicBands don't work, but since MM is only linked to my MB, I think I will have my DH carry it in case we are separated and he wants a ride photo or something.

Thanks so much for this. I'll be staying offsite and was wondering how I would be able to use MM without a MB.

when the discounts for disney packages come out for May can I apply the discount to an exisiting reservation? I do not want to lose my PP+ that I have with my exsiting package if I do not have to.

I shipped back my PP+ CD and voucher last week. I've been checking my credit card account periodically to see when the credit posts so I can order the memory maker. Well, today I saw the credit. For $40, instead of $149. I have no clue why they didn't give me the full credit. The voucher was sent along with the CD. Been on hold for almost 25 minutes at this point. I was looking at the website and can't even find anything that would cost a flat $40.

As long as there's availability at your resort for your dates, there's no problem getting a discount applied to an existing reservation. (There is a limited number of rooms available with any given discount.) It won't change anything on your package except the price.

The cost of the stock CD that you sent back is $40 (well, actually $39.95). It sounds like they didn't know that you were canceling your PP+. Did you contact PhotoPass before sending back the CD and voucher? According to their Facebook page, you need to contact them if you want to switch PP+ for MM.

Ah - at least that explains the amount of the refund. I called them before I mailed back the CD and voucher. I was told to note that I wanted to return it and get MM on the form I printed and sent with the rest of the package. Which is what I did.

I got ahold of someone after about 40 minutes. He was confused about why I only got the $40 refund. He's going to talk to billing and get back to me. I'm wondering if they didn't see the voucher in the package and thought I was just sending back the CD case.

We are are staying at POR in there Royal rooms. Does the discount typically only cover standard rooms? Do the discounts historically cover at least prefered rooms and hopefully the royal rooms? Got my fingers crossed.

Sorry, but this is very wrong to me. Same price, more hassle, less for my money. I personally loved the convenience of taking the CD to Sam's and getting whatever prints I wanted made. AND, having an older computer, I'm not at all comfortable with downloading all of my pics on my harddrive to risk losing them later. Yes, I could go out and buy a flashdrive to download them onto or a disc, but that's just more $ out of my pocket and more of my time wasted when I once paid Disney a pretty penny for this service. I will not be purchasing it this time around. One more disappointment from Disney, and one more example of paying more, but getting less. :sad2:

I am wondering about memory maker vs photo pass in the respect that I could pick and choose which pics I wanted with photo pass and order those not necessarily tying myself to a disc. Now it seems as though with memory maker it's either all or nothing. Can anyone verify this one way or another because I haven't been able to find this answer anywhere.

While I'm not a big fan of paying the same and getting less in general, the things they are eliminating aren't breakers for us. I enjoyed the physical pictures but they just sit around in a bag in the house. The stock photos were great but I don't need one every year. The thing I'll miss the most is the physical CD. I LOVE having the CD in case something happens to my PC, but I'll just burn my own. Not thrilled, but the pictures we get and the convenience is still something that we want.

You can still order neither in advance, take pictures with PP photogs and carry around the regular PP card (or maybe that goes on MB too?). When you get home you could order individual prints of the pictures you want, but they're crazy expensive.

I think I recall it being $15 for 3 photos or something.

Actually, it's $15 for one picture (you get 2 4x6s or 1 5x7 or you can purchase a download.)

Sorry for another annoying question! I've purchased MemoryMaker and it's linked to MDE account in my name.

But, we are staying offsite. So, I won't have a magic band.

I know I have to pick up something at Will Call, but I'm not sure what it is. And, I know that somehow I have to get the pictures I take "into" my account, but I'm not sure how (even after reading a million posts).

Help a confused and overwhelmed person?

I have a PP+ with voucher that I purchased for Oct2013 trip that I did not use and was going to save for May 2014 or Oct 2014 trip. I wonder if I can still use that far away?

Just... Use a PhotoPass card?

Your PhotoPass plus voucher will be accepted.

I am confused. With the new MM do you not get a CD with all your pics?

How does this work now? We are taking my mom with us and I wanted all the big cool pictures off all of us (my dad just passed away and I have no pictures of all of us together and I refuse to have this happy again, so we got the mm) but now I am scared. Can we still do the boarders and cropping?
