Memory Maker sharing with friends -will we all get ride pics?

If I share MM account with friends traveling same time as me, and i link them as "friends" on MDE, then will their magic bands pick up ride pics and video (and photopass photog pics too) automatically? or will the MM account only pick up my own family members (people actually on my reservations) for ride pics ect?

In addition to linking everyone as friends in your MDE, they need to link you as a friend in their MDE and allow you to view and purchase their photos and you need to extend the same privilege to them. (There are check boxes in MDE for that purpose - for each individual.) Their MBs will pick up the photos, but they won't show on your PhotoPass account unless they have given you permission to see them. They'll also be able to see your photos, but only you will be able to download any photos for free. If they download through their own PhotoPass accounts, they'll have to pay for them.

Yes, that's my understanding of how it works, and that's how it has worked for me (with MM via an annual pass). The important thing is that they give you permission to view and purchase their photos.

That's how it worked for me too. My trip overlapped with a friend's last year, so we shared MM. We were linked as "friends" and she gave me permission to view and download her pics. Then her family's ride pics showed up in my account, even after we returned home.

Just wanted to add that the I could NOT download any edited versions she had made in her account. So any cropping, borders, etc must be done from the account that has MM.

I just spoke to disney photo techs and they assured me that i WOULD be able to download edited photos from my cousin's account. I have MM, she doesn't; our trips are overlapping. I called them twice about this. Do you think your situation was a glitch? Or do you think that (as is the case sometimes), they were wrong? They even went so far as to add a note to my account, so that I could call back and they give them to me for free, in case it didn't work.

You get everyone's photos on your friends and family list whether you're at Disney with them or not. Everyone's will show up

Hmmm... Good question. I've read other reports of experiences like mine (that you can only download unedited versions of friends' pics). So I don't think I had a "glitch," but that was more than a year ago, so it's certainly possible that the system has changed! Also very possible you got bad info...

Maybe have your friend put a border on ONE photo and check whether you can see it? If so, you should be fine downloading them. If not, at least you'll know before she spends an hour editing them!

Turns out they put a note on my acct and told me that the system won't let me, but that they'll do it for me. But they say it's tedious, so I don't think they'll make habit of doing it.

The person that has the MM has to make all of the edits to the pictures. Those edits can be downloaded. Edits made on the accounts that do not have the MM attached (friends and family of the MM owner) will not be seen on the account of the person with the MM nor be able to be downloaded by them. So, the person with the MM either needs to be willing to make all of the edits or give the other parties they are sharing their MM with access to their MDE account so they can make their own edits to the pictures.

I've never cared to edit my photos. I just download them all as they are. If I ever find time to edit a photo, I would do it from within Google Photos, Flickr, etc ... wherever I store my photos. Am I missing something? Is the Disney editing program a MUST? Since I've never paid it any mind, I'm curious. Thanks!

You can add borders to it for specific rides and stuff like Expedition Everest for example

I will be sharing MM for the first time on our upcoming trip. I have a quick question. I will be purchasing it. Once we all get linked to share pictures, will they all show up on my fast pass list (specifically on the app on my phone)? I don't need them to, just want to know what to expect.

You can make your own edits to their pictures and download them. But any they make on their account will not show up in yours.

It's not so much the editing, but the stamps/borders you can add. Things like signatures from the characters, logos from the theme parks, etc. The actual editing is pretty simple with only a few things you can do. But people will do things like add Christmas borders to a family picture (only available around the holidays) to make a Christmas card.

If you wanted to know whether all the photos, including the ones taken on FP+ rides, would show up on your PhotoPass account on MDE on your mobile phone, the answer is yes.

If you wanted to know whether your friends' actual FP+ schedule would show up on MDE on your mobile phone, I think it will, since you have given each other permission to share and view all your plans.

I'm not clear on what you're asking. Are you asking how to view what your friends plans are?

If so, everyone's FPs and reservations will pop up on the home screen of your MDE. You can click the item and it'll tell you the names of the party members included in it.

If you're referring to seeing everyone's photos then you'll just click the photo tab and you'll see everyone's photos.

There's no way to accidentally change adr's or FPs. That would require specific clicking through different screens
