Hi there friends! Well, I have looked and don't seem to be finding the answers to my questions - so hoping you all can help me. :goodvibes

1.) I see on the Disney website that Memory Maker is $149 - how long does this price stay in effect? Before our trip? When we arrive at the resort? (We are staying at ASMU 6/5-6/10)

2.) Does the ride pics include all the rides that have pics available to purchase?

3.) Does this include all photopass spots in all the parks? (By the Castle, the Hat, Ect)

4.) So when I get home - I get to download all the pics and print them where I choose to print? (Example: Walgreens)?

Any help would be great. Trying to decide if we should be this for our family of 3 - seems this would be a great way to get a lot of "together" pics. We usually buy one or two pics from the photopass when we get home - but that adds up quickly - this might actually be cheaper in the long run.

Thank you for your help! :goodvibes

I too am curious about the "real" details for our upcoming trip in November... I have done some research on it...
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/memory-maker/

1.) I see on the Disney website that Memory Maker is $149 - how long does this price stay in effect? Before our trip? When we arrive at the resort? (We are staying at ASMU 6/5-6/10) From what I understand, the price is cheaper to add to your package than when you arrive. The "regular" price is $199.

2.) Does the ride pics include all the rides that have pics available to purchase? I would say yes, reading the explanation on the above link but you have to have them link the photo! : Immediately after you have experienced a participating attraction, please visit the attraction’s Sales Center and link the photo to your Disney account. You can link the photo using any MagicBand or card linked to your account—including Memory Maker cards and Disney PhotoPass Cards. Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account.

3.) Does this include all photopass spots in all the parks? (By the Castle, the Hat, Ect)yes

4.) So when I get home - I get to download all the pics and print them where I choose to print? (Example: Walgreens)? no :( ... Does Memory Maker include any physical photo prints or products?
A.Memory Maker is a digital-only entitlement. You can visit the Disney PhotoPass website to purchase prints, Disney Photo Gifts and other products using your Disney PhotoPass photos.

You may want to look into this either by itself or in addition to the memory maker (I don't think attraction photo's can be added to the photopass cards): https://mydisneyphotopass.disney.go.com/wdwsave/
You can prepurchase a photopass archive disc for $120 and get a physical disc of all your photo's taken with the photo pass. Those you can print wherever you want with the disc for personal uses only.

getting confused here. I thought you were able to download the pics and print them at home if you want.

(We are staying at ASMU 6/5-6/10) That is the pre-purchase price and needs to be purchased 3 days before your trip, after that I believe the price jumps to $199

2.) Does the ride pics include all the rides that have pics available to purchase? Yes, at the photo counter you give them the photo number and scan your magic band to link it to your account

3.) Does this include all photopass spots in all the parks? (By the Castle, the Hat, Ect) yes

4.) So when I get home - I get to download all the pics and print them where I choose to print? (Example: Walgreens)? yes, you can add borders and character signatures to the photos then download them to your computer. Once you have downloaded them you can print the photos at a place of your choosing

We bought it for our trip in March and it was nice being to have Family photos that included everyone, we ended up with over 400 photos through Memory Maker

Jeepin Dad.... did you print photo's at home from the downloads at a local place? I didn't read the information that way. My interpretation is that you use the memory maker to "keep" your digital photo's taken while on vacation but you don't own the printing rights to them, that you have to either purchase the archive disc to do that. I could be completely wrong as I'm still trying to figure out that piece myself.

Yes, when you download the photos you get a limited license agreement that allows you print the photos for personal use.

What size are the picture files that you download? I'm just wondering how large of a picture I'll be able to print out while keeping the image quality good.

I got memory maker for my trip and looked it to before getting it and yes you can print them off at home or any local shop that print photos.

Didn't I use to pay $99-119 for photopass plus, (if I bought it ahead of time)?? Why would I want to pay $149 now??

I thought that if all the bands are linked on my account anyone in our group could scan their band after a ride to add the photo to the account. Then only the person who is assigned to (who actually purchased the MM) could then download all the pictures after your trip.

Confused:confused3

I was able to print our photos from PhotoPass, including the boarders, at Walmart, and we used them as our Christmas Cards. Once you download the file, it's on your computer and you can do whatever you want with it. I even edited the photo we used for our card in PhotoShop to put our names on the card before we printed them.

There are multiple size options for each photo, but you have to select which sizes you want for each photo individually. For instance, you have to select 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 for each picture, then download each seperately. So, basically you will have 3 different versions of the same picture.

Memory Maker also mentions that you can now include photos from select dining locations. So I'm assuming that the photo you get with Cinderella at CRT is included, since that photo is included in the price of the meal. However, at a place like Tusker House (Breakfast), they take your photo with Safari Donald, and you had to buy that photo if you wanted it, as it was not included in the price of your meal. With MM, do you still have to purchase the photo package in order to get that photo on your MM?

Thank you for all the replies and discussion.......I have learned a lot!!!

As another poster asked - why would you choose memory maker over Photopass? Any differences? Memory Maker better?

Thinking we will buy it - I want lots of memories with all of us in the pics.

Big thank you again - I always know I can ask you guys anything!! :cool1:

My understanding is that you will have the digital copies of all character meals loaded to your MM. I've read that you do not get the prints at the meal, but you are able to print them on your own.

Great info here, I was thinking about adding this through MDE for our trip next month and now I'm sure I will. Now we'll have more photos with the whole family in them.

I think the difference is that the ride photos and character meal photos are included.

I've never purchased any of the photopass or MM products, but will be using it in May. We always buy our CM's pics (it's crazy to see how my son has grown over the last 13 years in those pictures!) and we laugh at our ride photos but never buy those, so it will be neat to have them.

There's another poster on the Dis who made it a point to have 150 pictures at the end of their trip-so $1 a picture. I think that's a good idea to try and get your money's worth, and knowing my family it will turn into a quest and competition :rotfl:

My wife and kids were able to scan their bands and the photos linked to my MM account since their bands were linked to my MDE account.

From what I understand, Memory Maker has replaced Photo Pass. It costs $30 more because you now get the ride and character meal photos, where before, those were not included.

Nope, with photopass PLUS, you still got character meal photos and ride photos. (reg photopass did not offer that)...I don't know why I am expected to pay more for the same thing, plus I'm not getting the CD that came with photopass +.

Makes sense - thinking it will be great to have those pics!

So - I hope I am not asking too many questions - but I am really clueless sometimes! LOL So, if I have these pics downloaded - can I also use them to put in a photo book that you order from a store? Thinking yes - but just want to be sure.
