We are traveling to WDW in April and another family is going with us. Since I have bought all the tickets and everything is managed through my account and MDE, does that mean if I purchase the Memory Maker, all the photos scanned by any of the 10 people will be put on it?

Yes, as long as the party is linked to your account, any of the photos that they take will be put into your Memory Maker. The only thing is that you will be the only one to be able to download those pictures or videos.

I had heard a rumor that they were only going to be doing Memory Maker by room - so anyone in your room would be on it but if you had others in a different room you would need another Memory Maker package for them.

Has anyone else heard that?

I'm sure that is only a rumor. Some large families reserve more than one room and they can't be required to purchase more than one package.

Yes, in fact our extended family just purchased Memory Maker this week for an upcoming trip, and we are staying in three different rooms, but it looks like the Memory Maker is linked to all of our accounts.

I used the Memory Maker with extended family in 2013 when it was still called Photo Pass and then with myself and my grandparents in 2014. If you can't figure out how to link all your accounts then you can always have your extended family get Photopass cards from the photographer and then you can use the code on the back to upload those pics to your Memory Maker. Also, if they ride rides then get the number associated with their pic and call the Memory Maker people to have those ride photos added. Or if you're all traveling together and will be at the parks together all day then you can just have the photographer scan your Magic Band during all the pictures.

Is Memory Maker worth purchasing? Debating on whether or not to get it.

It was the first time when I went with extended family. The next trip we just went with my grandparents to 2 parks and didn't get many pictures at all so that was a bust. I'm getting it again this time and will make it a point to get lots of pictures. You just have to stop when you see a photographer and sometimes you can get caught up in getting to your next destination and just walk right by them

Everyone with a magic band linked to your account can capture photos from photopass photographers and their bands will capture any ride photos and meet and greet photos. I would check your photopass account after each day to verify all pictures were captured. I had about a dozen photos not show up. Spent 2 hours at photopass services Town Square trying to locate and then called today (a week after) to finally get all photos. They did find every photo!!

Was coming to ask the exact same question ;) I had read the MM thread and people there were saying you had to make an account for the other people in your party (if they had a separate room) and then link them to your account. Not sure why all that would be needed since I booked everyone using my account, we just have 2 rooms.

You have to make the effort to make it worth it. It costs $169, which means that you would need to get at least 12 pictures taken to save money over the per picture cost of $15. If you ride the rides that offer pictures, do meet and greets and stop at PhotoPass spots, you can easily get more than enough pictures to make it worth it.

It sounds like it would be a good deal for us. Then when we return home, I can download the photos of the other family and send to them.

And I sure hope they do not tie it to a room, at least before April. We are having to stay offsite for the first time since our friends can't afford to stay on site.

It's not necessary to have an onsite reservation, that's why they send out PhotoPass cards.

I think so! I left with over 900 pictures and I didn't feel like I made extra effort or took away from my fun to stop. My kids did JTA and I got about 30 pictures from there. ETWB I ended up with about 35 because three of my family members were in the show.

The only time I really didn't want to stop was the last day and I walked pass a PhotoPass photographer but went back to find out he had Darth Vader shots! I'm so so glad I went back.

They got lots of action and interactive shots of us with the characters that we couldn't get because we were managing kids and autograph books and broken pens. We got to talk while they did the work.

It was a real treat to be in the pictures for a change!
