Memory Maker Question

I am a bit confused about the Memory Maker. My impression upon first reading is that you receive a CD with all pictures that you have linked to your Magic Band.
Then I read further that you only have 45 days to download and they are gone.

I am confused??? I thought if I paid the $149 in advance or $199 at WDW I get to keep all the pictures (digitally) that are taken.

Can someone please explain how this works. I am thinking about getting it, if we get to keep digitals of all the Photopass pics taken and the ride photos taken.

Thanks in advance

You do not get a cd. You just download all of your photos (including all of your edits) from the site. You can purchase a CD for approx. $30, but it is much cheaper just to burn your own.

I looked into it a couple days ago because I am deciding whether or not to purchase it for our upcoming trip. I believe I read that you get unlimited downloads for 45 days, and there is an additional fee (I think it was $29.95) for a cd with your images.

So I can just pull up the site and then download them onto my computer when I get home? I'm ok with that. I can burn my own CD's from home.

In the past I have relied on taking my own pictures. The thing is, it usually looks like my family took a trip without me!! :rotfl2: I've only bought 1-2 from the PhotoPass site, but if I can download all of them on my computer to keep I think I will do it!

We just got back from our first trip using memory maker. We loved it. We'd always just done the regular photopass card before and bought the few pictures we wanted. I never bought many because they were pretty pricy per photo. But with memory maker you get all the ride photos included (you still have to stop at the photo area at the end of the ride and have the card scanned). We have over 150 photos in our account this trip. Now I'll admit, not all of them are great and we might not have stopped as often as we did if I hadn't pre-paid for the memory maker. But many of the photos are really, really nice and wonderful keepsakes of the trip.

Also, a tip I got from someone here, there's a photopass spot in guest relations at DTD. My oldest daughter and I stopped by and had a mini-photo session there. The CM was wonderful and took a lot of photos of the two of us together. I plan to get memory maker every time I go back. Even my very frugal husband said it was one of the best deals of the trip.
