Memory Maker: Please educate me. :)

We leave for WDW in 12 days. I reserved memory maker and linked it to my MDE account. It's DEFINITELY showing up. I have a few questions and figure that DISers can help.

(1) When I bought Memory Maker, I got 2 options - shipping or Will Call. I picked Will Call since I didn't think it would ship in time. I then logged on to MDE and added it to MDE and it is showing up. Do I still need to stop at Will Call or is it already integrated to my Magic Band?

(2) I am traveling with family. My cousins are staying in an adjoining room (hopefully) and they are added to "friends and family" on my MDE account. I actually am able to make FPP for them and ADRs. What happens if they go off on their own? Will their pictures be added if they get their MBs scanned or do they need a PP card?

(3) What about ride photos? If my cousins ride something on their own, can they scan the ride photos with their MBs or do I have to go (I "own" the MMM) to the photo center and get the photos scanned to my MB. They will be riding some things on their own, plus we'll be doing baby swap. I found that annoying when I had PPP and was hoping that it would be different with MMM.

I can answer most of your questions as I just used Memory Maker with a group of 11 (5 rooms at POP). Everyone was connected to my account as family and friends and were able to use their own Magic Bands. We got all the pictures that everyone had taken with no problems. I was also able to book everyone's fastpasses.

The rides are especially improved as anyone can scan and claim the photos now. I live in Canada so our Magic Bands are not mailed to us but are picked up at the resort. The Memory Maker was connected to all our bands when we picked them up. If in doubt check at the desk and they can tell if it is connected

Sometimes the pictures were on my account almost immediately and other times it took until the next day for them to appear. I was checking on my Ipad daily in case a picture we really wanted was missing. We did not do any character meals but we got hundreds of pictures on rides, with characters, Jedi training, Tales With Belle, etc. Since we were a large group we were not together a lot of the time but everyone was able to get the pictures they wanted.

Hope this answers most of your questions. The photographers did ask if we had Memory Maker or Photopass most of the time so it must make a difference to them.

Thanks for the info! Did you also have a card? We got our magic bands about 2 weeks ago and last week after ordering the memory maker online they sent me a card. The letter doesn't say anything about being able to use the magic band, but I was able to link the memory maker to my account. So I am assuming that the card is back up and can just depend on our magic bands?

Thanks for the info! I had asked the same basic question earlier today. The only thing extra I was wondering that I don't see her is that my sister's family has 2 kids that don't show on my friends and family since they don't have seperate MDE accounts. I was able to make ADR's for all of us though. So can they scan their MB since they show on my sisters account and it still work.

Thanks! I am so glad that they can use their MBs for their ride photos. I found it to be very inconvenient when we had the PP+ card last May. I'm also glad that they can also take their own PP photos.

I did not receive a card so I don't know the purpose of that. I had everyone connected under my family and friends to my account including two children (age 4 and 9). I'm not sure if anyone ever used the children's Magic Bands for photos as there would have been an adult with them at all times.

I read that someone wanted to do something like that and they added the kids by adding "through a mutual friend" (the person with the other account) in MDE and that the owner would have to approve each addition. Not sure how it works or anything but maybe it's of some use to you.
