Just done a survey having stayed at WDW last week.
Mainly about Memory Maker.
They are considering additional character meet and greets only for those who purchase Memory Maker.
I said I would strongly disagree with this!
Also considering a 1 day only Memory Maker at $50.

They actually tested or are testing this with Belle in the Magic Kingdom.

If the meet and greet is additional to the ones regularly around the park, for us, it would be great! We always get memory maker/photopass and take over 500 pictures, so this would be a draw for us...just like the Disney Visa meet and greet. We don't use FPs on character meets, so if it split the lines between standby and MM exclusive, it could cut wait times and be beneficial for everyone. Depending on how they would structure it of course. If you pay for MM, what's wrong with having the perk of an exclusive meet?

I was sad we weren't visiting during the Gold Dress Belle MM only trial run, because the options for meeting her in that costume are limited.

Is this to say that a meet n greet is included with memory maker ? Thanks

Yes this meet and greet would be included with memory maker.

Yes, I understand that.

In my post I wasn't asking how it would work, just trying to say why it would be a positive for us, and other guests who purchase Memory Maker, rather than the negative OP seems to think it would be, by using the example of "if the meet and greet is in addition...blahblahblah".
I don't see why there would be any hate toward it, when it's basically like the Visa M&G. It wouldn't take away from any of the meets available for guests who do not have MM, so I was curious why OP would choose "strongly disagree" on a survey regarding the appeal. For OP personally, I can understand why they wouldn't care one way or another if they do not purchase Memory Maker, but not why they would see it as a bad thing when it would be a positive for people who DO purchase Memory Maker.

My point being, in a question to OP, if it isn't taking away what is readily available, what's the problem? Not asking to be snarky, but genuinely curious as to why it would be a bad thing in OP's opinion.

Maybe they just should add more meet and greets on for the people paying lots to enter the park- rather than exclusive add ons to sell even more extras?
Is there not enough meet and greets already? I mean sure they can add more but this would only be one or two exclusive for memory maker guests.

I had memory maker this year and given the amount of people now using it I didn't think there were enough photographers. There are not enough meet and greets in my view.

It's such a shame they did not extend that Belle in her golden dress m & g. I would have been all over that like a rash. Just missed it by 2 weeks but then they might offer something else!

It sounds like they are just trying to add more value to AP with photopass or MM purchased seperately. I can't see this taking away what is there already. A bit like DVC has exclusive evenings and events.

So, people, tell me why Memory Maker is a good thing to pay extra for?
Can I not just take my own photos?

Yes you can but memory maker gives you professional photos and the ability to download all of your Disney photos to your computer. With memory maker you can also add borders and other fun stuff to your photos.

For me memory maker is worth it. I'll still always bring my camera but it's nice to have those photos with everyone in them.

OK, so, how does it work, cos, if I buy it when I get there, then I can't use it for three days? or can I buy it in advance?

It's actually cheaper of you buy it in advance. I want to say $169 in advance or $199 if you buy it during your trip. The pricing may have changed a little though. Once you buy it, it is good for the length of your trip. If you only wanted it for one day I believe they have a cheaper one day option.

So, for $169 I'm good for 10 days? (so, is only about £13 a day) And, they have photographers in all the parks and in some resorts? Then, it is easy for me to have pictures with all of us in them? Pictures at character meets? Those cool effect photos? And, I can download them when I get back to the UK? (this is why I know nothing about it - we book through a travel agent, who doesn't even give advice to make ADRS or FP+ - thank goodness for the DIS)

You can carry a camera and get your own photos but MM is still worth it in addition that in my opinion. You get professional photos, magic shots (Tinkerbell added to an outstretched hand or whatever...yeah you could do it yourself with photoshop but it is still neat), on-ride photos for any attraction that has them, better meet and greet photos in my opinion, character meal photos, tons of great photos when you do things like Jedi Training or Enchanted Tales with Belle, and your whole family can all be in a picture instead of one of you taking it or handing your camera to a stranger. If you purchase it ahead of time there is slight cost savings and if you are going for a week, it has always seemed like a relatively minimal cost for lots of benefits to me.

* I think it is $149 if you buy it at least 3 days prior to the trip. Afterwards it is more expensive.

I think they need to add some perks to the MM package. We bought it for this trip only because there are 13 of us and it was a better value to share it. If it was just my immediate family I wouldn't purchase it because of cost. Additional meet n greet might sway me more.
