Memory Maker for those staying offsite

I'm confused as to how MM works for those staying off site, and with no magic bands, just the park ticket cards. This trip (Oct 20-27) is really going to be special as we are taking my 78 yr old mother-in-law. I'd like to get MM for the first time, but I'm confused how it works for those that stay offsite. From what I'm reading, they will give me a special card to use, but we are going with four adult children and we may separate at times. So do I have to be with everyone in order to use the MM, or is there some way to collect everyone's pictures? Also, I didn't understand what you have to do in order to get ride photos put on the account. Something like scanning your card under the picture screen after every ride? Can someone please put the process in simple terms for me? TIA

Yes you will be issued a special card to use..looks like a credit card.. If your group separates they can still get a card from a photpass photog and then you can combine those cards on your account. For ride photos you have to scan your card at the picture kiosk and the end of the ride (the board with all the pictures when you exit).

Thanks so much! How do I combine those cards on my account, if the kids get a card from the photo pass person?

There should be place on the photopass website to add another card to your account .... It's not on mde... At least I don't think so..

I was offsite and I never got any special card. I did however decide to go ahead and buy a band. With the band you can get videos from rides like 7DMT and TOT that you wouldn't get without the band (you also get a 7DMT photo which I believe you have to have a band because there are no monitors at the exit of the ride). While it may sound confusing, you will completely understand the scanning process after you exit the first ride that has a photo. There is a wall of monitors, you find your picture then follow the line down to a Mickey scanner, where you scan your band (or if no band I thought you scan your ticket but from the above posts I guess there is a special card). I had friends and family linked and they all had bands (they stayed onsite) so all of their photos appeared whether I was with them or not. They actually arrived a day before us and all of their photos were there.

Thanks for the info! I was actually thinking I'd go ahead and get a band for myself for that reason. Sounds like it would just be so much easier to have one.
