Memory Maker Card in the mail

Hi:
I was wondering if anyone else had received a memory maker card in the mail after pre purchasing? The back of this plastic card says I have to input this 12 digit number to get all the MM features but doesn't say where to do that. When I go into MDE under MM, a confirmation code is listed there so it seems like its already linked. Is this another step or am I good to go? Also is there any purpose to this card or do I just use the magic bands to keep all the photos together?
Thanks!

I am going to follow along, as I have the card as well. From what I understand so far, the card is not needed, but a back-up in case there is a problem with the pics transferring to the MDE account?

I've experienced this twice so far. Once in early December and once in early March. Both times the MM was automatically added to my MDE and I just brought the card to Florida with me "just in case." Never needed them. As a matter of fact, I just threw both of them away still attached to the paper the arrived on!

Jedi, you are totally correct. I just got my card in the mail the other day, and it's already linked on my MDE account. This was the case last March as well.

I'm not sure why Disney hasn't phased out mailing the plastic tickets and memory maker cards. They would recoup some of their cost with implementing MyMagic+! When you buy them from your MDE account they either automatically link, or you can use the confirmation code they send you via email to link and you shouldn't ever need your physical ticket/card. I suppose its a good backup to have but saving your confirmation number somewhere would do the same thing should you find yourself at the park with a glitch in the linking to your magic band.

Ok, that's what I thought too. It seems like Disney wants everything to be completely integrated digitally with MDE so the idea of having to pull out a little plastic card constantly seemed off. I tried to go on to the Photopass site last night and add it in but the site seemed to be completely down. Also MDE was having some trouble as well so I couldn't try. I think I'm just going to hold onto the card but not do anything online.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago.
It was already linked to my MB.
I'll take it just in case they have a MB issue with MM.

It should automatically sync with my disney experience but I always take the cards with me just in case there is ever a problem. If you look at my disney experience under your profile and the number on the back of the cars should match up where it goes on there. We have never had any issues.

Since you have to choose one MB to link the MM with, could others in your party use the card in another area of the park to add a ride picture or something to the MM account? That is, if the person with the MB was riding something else? Hope this makes sense!

Actually what you are doing is assigning a person who can download the pictures. Only one person can. If you and your party are linked in MDE then you are linked for MM.

I have not received one either but booked it with the package. It shows that I have it on DME and has the confirmation #.

Everyone in your party who is listed in your Friends and Family list (and has their preferences set to "can view and purchase my photos" or "you manage this account") is able to get their photos in your one MM purchase by scanning their MB at a photographer or riding a photo-enabled ride. You already do not need to be together in the park for everyone's pictures to be captured. The plastic card is just a backup or can be used by someone who doesn't want to wear a MB.

They didn't scan just my magic band for all the pictures last year. There were a couple of times that they scanned my kids or my husbands band and all my pictures were still there at the end of my trip! I didn't have any issues with getting all my pictures regardless of who's band they scanned!!
