Memory Maker and WDW Marathon Weekend

I'm hoping that someone has experience with the WDW Memory Maker and the marathon weekend and can help me understand how they work together (if at all). My family has a trip planned for early next year for the marathon events and cannot wait to run with Mickey and Donald! For every race I've ever been in, there are course photographers and I know that Disney has character stops on the course, too.

I spoke to a WDW ticket salesperson on the phone and she said that she has a coworker who used it for the race and "got all their photos on the memory maker". So that's promising, but everything that I've seen online indicates that it is not Disney photographers out on race day. Does anyone have a first hand experience about the races the the memory maker?

hope this helps memory maker can only be used in the parks like photo pass
for all the race events the photos are through marathon photo which will sell you a separate package for your photos there will be no memory maker or photo pass photographers on any of the race routes or expo even if there are characters.
