memory card reader. Does it matter which kind you use?

I am a geek but not a computer geek. I just learned that you can buy a memory card reader for your digital camera. There are many types available at different prices. Does it matter which one you get?

I think any of the name brands at a Best Buy/CompUSA type store is fine, just make sure you have the correct one for your memory media type. (Compact flash/Smart Media, etc)
