I need alittle helping with some wording. We want to have a poem or something framed for my DF's Grandparents on his Mom's side. They are no longer with us. Just not sure what to say. Also we are putting roses on 3 chairs in the front for our grandparents that can't be there with us. I would like to put alittle poem on them, and send them to them after the wedding ( I am using the same silk ones that are in my bouquet). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I commend your heartfelt actions. please let me know what you come up with. my fiance and I are setting up a remembrance table for his father and his son who both died last year. we are using framed photo's , a candle and we also are having a silk bouquet made for them that will be on the table and then we will place at their resting place afterwards..we never thought of any words but we will have a special toast to them that day..in our case, any more will probably just weigh too sadly

best of luck..

Michelle

Thank you. I really just want a way to honor them, but not make it sad. I am putting pics of our parents and grandparents wedding day on the guest sign in table. And just thought alittle something about his Grandparents that are no longer with us would be nice.

We thought about a display of a poem, or a picture of our family that has passed away too...but instead we decided to have the minister mention their names during the ceremony. He just said something short, and sweet about them watching over us...my father, my husband's father and mother, and brother. And we placed flowers on their seats in the church too.
Good luck with everything, and let us know what you find in the way of poems.

I found this. What do you think?

Everyday in some small way
Memories of you come our way.
Though absent, you are always near
Still missed, loved and always dear.

That is very nice, I had father jack say something, i can watch the video and see what it was and i also had a memorial candle (from jeanm essentials) and white roses on my guestbook table

My mother passed away 4 years ago of cancer when I was 18. My wedding is August 4th and we have an awesome way to honor her at the wedding!

A very good friend of ours did an oil painting of my Mom. I'll have to find it so I can post it. We're putting it on the altar of the church and having a white pillar candle right beside it. I haven't decided what I want to put in the program about.

We also are having a small memory table in the narthex of our church with batter operated candles. We're going to include some small, framed pictures of them as well. That way our guests can see who is watching us down from heaven :goodvibes .

That's a great poem you found, princessdisneybelle. All the other ideas are lovely as well. I think it's great that so many of us are including people who are no longer with us physically, but always spiritually/emotionally.

we did a little rememberance on the back of our program that said: In loving Memory of our loved ones who are no longer with us in body, but are with us in spirit and always in our hearts: (and we listed their names here)

I thought it was sweet, but not too long and obnoxious you know? your poem you found is sweet, too.

That is a great idea too. I am doing the Mickey fans though and not enough room I don't think.

I wasn't really into the unity candle, if anything I wanted to do a sand ceremony. I will have to look back at my program, but we incorporated the unity candle with memory of those who are no longer with us, and honoring those who couldn't be there. It was nice. We had a family friend, the wife of one of the people we were remembering to read the names.

That poem is very nice, says it all with out being too wordy. I would use something like that if we were having programs.
My mom passed away almost 4 years ago and I have really missed her help with all the wedding planning. She gave my sister and I pendants that say I love you just before she passed away, for us to wear at my sisters wedding, so i will wear it at mine.
But i don't think I'm going to tell anybody, besides you guys. I feel like it's something just for me to know. Nobody that is going to be at the wedding knew her. Does that make sense?

definately makes sense. Its not really something that needs to be advertised, just something special you want to do. I think its really sweet.:wizard:

That is beautiful. I totally understand.

I love the poem you found. My df's dad just passed away in oct. and he has been debating on if he wants to do a memorial or if it will just be to hard for him. He is really concerned with how his mom and little bro would handle it too! We both wanted to do the wedding away so he wouldn't have to deal with all the people here but if we did it away we would cut out a lot of family and we know family is the most important. I read him the post and poem tonight and he just looked at me with big tears in his eyes and said he liked the poem and he would think about it. So I just wanted to tell everyone thanks for posting It really helped my soon to be family.:grouphug:

You are very welcome! Your family is in my prayers.

Just thought I would post a pic of the nice poem design Pat from the Creative board did for me. This pic is also the front image of our invitations. I will frame this and have a card on the table with the names of the people that we are honoring.

Laura, that is a really sweet poem. We still do not know what we are going to do for our grandparents who are no longer here.

This is off topic a bit, sorry, but where did you get that background w/ everyone in their wedding gear taking pics in front of the castle? I would love to use that for my welcome letters :)

I didnt make it. I can ask Pat for it with no wording or border if you like. And send it to you.
